TRAMPS Release Debut Ep

TRAMPS the band featuring ex-members of The Wedding and The Overseer have released their debut ep. Filled to the brim with passionate, honest, and heart on the sleeve rock n’ roll. To put it lightly, I’m more than impressed with this debut and feel that it’s one of the strongest debut releases of 2016. There is just something that reeks of pure honesty when listening to these songs. Featuring a slight “punk rock” edge while staying true to straight up dyed in the wool rock n’ roll. Imagine the bands The Gaslight Anthem, Bruce Springsteen, (old)Against Me, Make Do and Mend, and The Menzingers all collaborated on a song and you’ll get a sense of the realism in these songs. You can listen to the songs below. Check out the song “Winds” featuring Matty Mullins (Memphis May Fire).

Hangnail Return From Their Slumber With Hard Hitting "Live" Album

The punk rock band Hangnail have indeed returned with a vengeance and are set to make all of you long time fans and fence sitters, instant fans of the band again. How might they accomplish this goal? Well with just one spin of their “Live” album it becomes abundantly clear just how much raw talent and power these men wielded through their instruments. Hangnail weren’t just another pop-punk band meant to ride the coattails of Billie Joe and Green Day with faux English accents, spiky hair, and pretend attitudes. Hangnail were far from that whole scene and their talent can’t be over looked. If you haven’t given this new Live album a spin, you are doing yourself a huge disservice. These 18 songs (and 1 intro) are some of the most powerful, melodic, technical, and spiritual punk rock songs you’ll ever hear outside of a polished Hollywood studio with a giant budget. It’s amazing how crisp and clear these songs truly sound and the bite that this release holds. If anyone wanted the perfect introduction to Hangnail, this should always be it then go back with Transparent, Facing Changes, and Self Titled. I was so excited to be given the opportunity to “release” this fantastic live album and I am thrilled to be able to share it with all of you. We welcome back Hangnail with arms wide open and it is my hope the guys will consider sticking around a little bit longer. If you like what you hear, make sure to pick up a shirt or two in the merch store. Continued →

Campaign Alert: Altar Boys / Broken Reunion 2005 DVD Release

Mike Stand and Steve Pannier of Altar Boys did a little facebook talk that included question/answer time and some classic songs done acoustic. This is all for the Kickstarter campaign to fund the DVD release of the 2005 Broken Reunion Show. It has been 30 years since the release of the band’s defining album “Gut Level Music” and next year will be the 30th for “Against the Grain”. Speaking of legacies, this band definitely has a bright one. Speaking of “Gut Level Music” if you want it on vinyl, it’s hard to pass up $6.00 for an LP! Continued →

MxPx - Doing Time

Today’s Video Flashback is of classic MxPx track “Doing Time” off the “Life In General” album (1996/Tooth & Nail Records). It’s amazing to think that Life in General just turned 20 last month. So crazy how fast time flies. Speaking of MxPx, they recently released a “Live” film from their Observatory shows in 2015 and the band has a rare single that was part of their campaign for the live film that you can hear below.
