Best of 2020: Noah Hardwick (Part II)

Some would say that putting together a year-end list of your top 100 albums and EPs is insane. And I agree. It’s one of the most ambitious things I’ve attempted since I started writing for IVM. So how did I do it exactly? Well I started out by putting together a list of all the albums and EPs I listened to during 2020—a feat in its own right. When I was done I had a list of about 300 releases which I then set out to rate on a scale of 1 to 10.… Continued →

Best of 2020: Rob Jensen

I was going to write a little intro to this list of mine, but in the end I figured I’d just let it speak for itself. Alot of great music dropped despite all the year brought us and these are my top 20. Let me know what you think!     20. Everything In Slow Motion – “Influence”. (Rock/Hard Rock) Released 10/16/20 on Facedown Records. Influence was the band’s first release since the 2016 ep, Laid Low. While it didn’t feel like a whole lot of new ground was covered, that is a good thing, especially considering their sound.… Continued →

Fireflight To Release New Album, Stream Whole Thing Via YouTube

Fireflight are back with a powerful new 10 song album via Rockfest Records. You can actually stream the entire album via YouTube right here. Listen below. The album is out October 23rd via Rockfest Records. The sound and production on this new album is near flawless. Powerful, deep, bass driven rock songs with Dawn’s hard hitting, intense and gripping vocals front and center. It’s like the perfect combo of rock sounds reminiscent of Anberlin, Evanescence, Flyleaf, Spoken, and Ledger, all at their best moments. Dawn, Wendy, Justin, and Glenn are all back in the fold of the band and present their most heavy, rock inspired tunes in years.… Continued →

Fireflight Re-Imag-Innova Now Available

A new Fireflight release just hit the digital marketplace. It’s titled “Re-Imag-Innova” and features 5 tracks from “Innova” reimagined in an acoustic type setting. I really enjoyed the “Innova” album and this Ep makes it clear the talent this group holds. I’ve been a fan since the beginning and I really hope (and pray) that they continue making new music for years to come. Continued →

REVIEW : Fireflight - Unbreakable

Band: Fireflight Album: Unbreakable Label: Sony BMG/Flicker Review by: Tyler Hess Having seen their show for the third time a couple days ago, it came to my attention that IVM had yet to take a closer look at the band’s second full length release. The first thing that I’d like to point out is that I hadn’t listened to the album in probably two or three months, yet on the morning of the show I mysteriously woke up and remembered the words to several of their songs, so if nothing else, these songs are certainly memorable, which is something I can’t say for probably half the albums I’ve reviewed on here.… Continued →

REVIEW : Concert Review: Fireflight, Abandon, and Seven Layer Soul

Concert Review: Fireflight, Abandon, Seven Layer Soul Review by: Tyler Hess For more pictures, go here. Upon learning that my fiancé had scored us free tickets to this show, I was pretty stoked. Not because I am the biggest fan in the world, or even that I originally thought it was with Abandon Kansas, but because I love going to shows and I love not paying for stuff when I don’t have to. What I wasn’t completely stoked about was another concert at a church.… Continued →
