TRAMPS the band featuring ex-members of The Wedding and The Overseer have released their debut ep. Filled to the brim with passionate, honest, and heart on the sleeve rock n’ roll. To put it lightly, I’m more than impressed with this debut and feel that it’s one of the strongest debut releases of 2016. There is just something that reeks of pure honesty when listening to these songs. Featuring a slight “punk rock” edge while staying true to straight up dyed in the wool rock n’ roll. Imagine the bands The Gaslight Anthem, Bruce Springsteen, (old)Against Me, Make Do and Mend, and The Menzingers all collaborated on a song and you’ll get a sense of the realism in these songs. You can listen to the songs below. Check out the song “Winds” featuring Matty Mullins (Memphis May Fire).

Joshua Powell, of Joshua Powell & The Great Train Robbery, was kind enough to talk with me over email about his music last year. An album I’ve been enjoying since it was released back in August is by the band Islander. The album is called “Power Under Control” and it has that Blindside meets POD meets Deftones meets Papa Roach vibe. The album was released by Victory Records back on August 5th (stream on spotify below) and this is a video for the track “Bad Buy” off the album. Continued →

The now classic numetal/rapcore band, Every Day Life, have indeed reunited as evidenced on their new Facebook page. The band recently hosted a Q&A session on Facebook and have plans for a special podcast through their former label home “Frontline/Alarma Records”. Every Day Life have plans for some explosive reunion shows in Orange County/So Cal, Ohio, and a few other spots in 2017. 2016 also marked the 20th anniversary of their debut full length, “Disgruntled”. The controversial album led to such hits as “Bystander”, “Look”, “Ecolli”, “Perseverance”, and “Residence”, among the other awesome tunes. I am hoping for some shows with Project 86 and Stavesacre, that would make for a very entertaining evening. Check out a video of the band performing a song live in their practice space, below.
