Song of the Day: Black Eyed Sceva - Handshake

I don’t know what it is but maybe today’s dark and stormy skies along with a heavy downpour elicits a moody yet introspective response to music. A song such as “Handshake” really makes you stop and think. I still believe after all these years that the band Black Eyed Sceva (and later known as ‘Model Engine’) were brilliant songwriters, Jeremy Post in particular. There was something magical in their music and the way they conveyed these emotions through song. The Best of 1997: Favorite Hits From 20 Years Ago

Yep, the list you’ve all been waiting for (not really) is finally here. Feel free to offer up some laughs and critical remarks for the music I listened to the most 20 years ago. You’ll notice a heavy T&N presence and I just couldn’t help myself. There were a lot of albums and releases I found myself spinning back then and still getting plays today. Black Eyed Sceva - Justified

Today’s Video Flashback is from 90’s alt-rock band, Black Eyed Sceva for their song “Justified” from the album “Way Before the Flood” (1995 Five Minute Walk Records). Video is a little grainy as it appears someone either recorded from a VHS or filmed their TV. This band still ranks high on my list of favorite acts from the 90’s in the Christian rock scene. They released “Way Before the Flood” and an EP before changing their name to “Model Engine” and then released “Lean Years Tradition” in 97′.… Continued →
