It’s been five years since metalcore giants MyChildren MyBride have released new music. The absence has been felt twice as hard with the hiatus of too many bands in the same genre. Down to just two band members, MCMB travels into uncharted territory with this long awaited album. The theme of the album becomes clear during the first song, and it’s dramatic and hard to relate to. The world of gothic vampires surrounds the entire album in both lyrics and the musical waters. It could pass nicely for a song or two, but throughout the album it becomes too much.… Continued →

REVIEW : The Classic Crime - How To Be Human
It’s been nearly five years since mainstay rockers, The Classic Crime has put out new material. For avid fans of the band, it was an interminable wait. We can rejoice because the hiatus is over and we have a new album from one of the few remaining bands from the pop/rock, Tooth & Nail era. So the question lingers in the air – was the wait worth it? Here’s why it’s a frustrating “no.” After a forty second intro track, How To Be Human kicks off with their first and for obvious reasons, controversial single.… Continued →

REVIEW : Hearts Like Lions - If I Never Speak Again
Hearts Like Lions largely widened their audience reach when they signed with Tooth and Nail Records in 2015. They released an EP titled These Hands and as impressive and fulfilling as an EP can be, These Hands sufficiently succeeded in both. The sound was a mix of The Almost and My Epic, a combination that is every bit intriguing as it is effective. So here we are with their first full length album. Did they keep up with the momentum and release an album worth following a great EP?… Continued →

REVIEW : Falling Up - Falling Up
Let’s talk about perfection executed through a concept album that never loses its flavor or mysteriousness. After announcing their break up years ago, Falling Up thankfully returned though transitioning into a studio band for the most part – rarely playing shows. From Fangs! back in 2009, Falling Up has made a consistent and indisputable case that they are the kings of experimental rock among the Christian music scene. Their final album, rightfully self titled because it encompasses the greatest of all their albums, is one to behold as a masterpiece.… Continued →

REVIEW : Decyfer Down - The Other Side Of Darkness
The North Carolina rockers known as Decyfer Down came back from oblivion with “Scarecrow” in 2013. It was a surprise of an album venturing into riffs and southern hooks that took heavy influences from vocalist TJ Harris and his previous band Fighting Instinct. The album was a sweet breath from what one might expect from the radio-ready rock group. Unfortunately, “Scarecrow” received mix reception and fell under too many radars. The good news is that they’re back with a heavier effort and look to be sticking around.… Continued →

REVIEW : Times of Grace - The Hymn of a Broken Man
Adam Dutkiewicz, guitarist of metal heavyweights Killswitch Engage, has gotten back together with that band’s former vocalist, Jesse Leach. Together, their “side project” is Times of Grace, an explosion of hard rock and heavy metal sound that is sure to please fans of Killswitch Engage, Demon Hunter, Underoath, Thrice, and even Metallica.
REVIEW : All We Have - Freedom Fighters EP
Yet again, Ontario delivers strong melodies and tight musicianship. All We Have delivers alternative rock for fans of Run Kid Run, Anberlin, or Ace Troubleshooter.

REVIEW : Attalus - The Greater Tide EP
Imagine what it might sound like if Emery were heavily influenced by the big band jazz sounds of the 1940s. Now take out most of the screams and throw in a chunk of 90s melodic punk and some classic Stavesacre for good measure. The resulting mix is Attalus, as heard on The Greater Tide EP.
