A Very Indie Christmas Returns From 2008 To Spread Some Holiday Cheer
The long lost IVM compilation “A Very Indie Christmas Vol. 1” has reappeared from 2008 where it remained hidden and under lock and key for 10 years. The compilation hopped in the delorean and has met us here in 2018 without disrupting the space time continuum. Great Scott! Check out the FREE compilation below. This “Christmas” comp featured a ton of bands with some Christmas tracks and some just plain ROCKIN’ songs (not all of it is Christmas music). IVM was on a roll a decade ago with free compilations where I was regularly releasing them and putting them up for free on the old site.… Continued →

Indie Vision Music Hits Billboard Radio Charts
Earlier this year we were stoked to learn that IVM had several artists charting on the Billboard Christian Rock Charts for Radio Play. Mainframe, Grandpa Loves Rhinos, Light The Way, and Craig’s Brother all had songs on the charts throughout much of the year. It went a little quiet past few months until a friend alerted me to this last week’s chart showing Grandpa Loves Rhinos and Names Without Numbers both landing a spot. On top of that, a really cool punk rock band by the name of Reliance charted with their song “Broken Bottles” who we support here at IVM.… Continued →

REVIEW : Valleyheart - Everyone I've Ever Loved
Valleyheart's moving debut is repentant, vulnerable alt-rock laced with explosive crescendos.
Demon Hunter Releases Two New Singles
Metal giants Demon Hunter surprised us recently with the announcement that they will be releasing not one album, but two on the same day. The albums titled War and Peace contrast each other with a heavier sound and a softer one respectively.
Today, they released a track from each. “On My Side” is a hard hitting melodic piece from War that features one of the most infectious and memorable choruses in Demon Hunter history.
From Peace, the title track is reminiscent of “The Heart of a Graveyard.”… Continued →

REVIEW : Dystopian Futures - The Tyranny of Things
The Tyranny of Things, the latest release from Dystopian Futures, builds on the foundation laid during the band’s debut self-titled EP, and Low Arts. This world is a dangerous place. And it’s not just the horrific scenes that appear on the evening news. The danger lies in our hands, our thoughts, and by the technology that absorbs and directs our every waking moment.
The opening notes of “Dead Philosophers”, leaves the listener expecting a light pop song. Not so. The vocals build to a shout, naming philosopher after philosopher, no longer alive.… Continued →

The Incomplete List of 2018's Rock Albums and EPs
Finding a rock album in 2018 feels like searching for a needle in a haystack of hip hop. That’s why I’ve done my best to collect all of the rock, alternative, indie, metal, and punk albums I’ve come across in 2018 into one list for you. It’s far from complete (especially when it comes to heavy albums) but hopefully you will be able to find at least a few albums and EPs you haven’t heard yet. Enjoy! (Oh, and feel free to contribute more to the list in the comments!)… Continued →

REVIEW : Thin Ice "Misery Noose"
San Antonio, Texas' Metallic Hardcore act Thin Ice has recently released demos for what would've been their full length follow up to their Blood & Ink records EP release "Revelation Through Tribulation". Needless to say, this doesn't disappoint in the least. Heavy and aggressive as expected.
REVIEW : Young Oceans "Songs of Christmas"
There are albums that one finds out about and count the days in anticipation for its release. Young Oceans' "Songs of Christimas" is one album that I, myself was not aware was being worked out, but was exceptionally joyed upon hearing of it's release.

REVIEW : Eager Seas - Mine As Well
Eager Seas' latest release is composed of songs released consecutively throughout 2018. Does it suffer from being single-driven or does it maintain enough cohesion to be considered a proper album? Does this question even matter?
