Introducing a new band to you today. They are called To Live As Sons and feature a few former members from ZAO’s “The Splinter Shards the Birth Of Separation” (and before) era. They play a fiery blend of Spirit Filled Hardcore meant to get your adrenaline pumping and your fists in the air. This is some of the most solid independent hardcore I’ve heard in recent years and I encourage you to check them out. Listen to their new songs, below. Look for their debut ep soon.… Continued →

The Blamed is Back!

The Blamed has been a Christian Hardcore/Punk band since the 90s. The Line up for the Blamed is going back to its roots with Original band members: Jim Chaffin on drums and Bryan Gray on guitar. Joining them will be Sid Duffour on bass (formally of Headnoise) and guitarist Jeff Locke (who recorded in 1998 on the album “…again” and toured with the Blamed) and New lead vocalist of October Bird Of Death, Wiley Willis. The New record will be heavily inspired by Old-School Hardcore and Punk.… Continued →

REVIEW : Come and Rest - Blacklist

Come and Rest have crafted a great hardcore record. “Blacklist” has something for nearly everyone, be it in the form of diverse vocal delivery or hellish riffs, this album will be sure to emanate from metalheads speakers for some time to come.

REVIEW : Sleeping Giant - Finished People

For anyone familiar with Christian hardcore legends, Sleeping Giant, you already have a pretty good idea of what to expect on their newest release, “Finished People”. A raw production style, riffs focused more on getting the crowd moving than technicality, and front man Tom Green’s passionate vocal performance. “Finished People” takes this basic formula the band have used in the past and refines it to become perhaps the best Sleeping Giant record to date.

INTERVIEW : Those Who Fear

Sonshine Festival was a huge success, as far as getting to see some amazing groups perform and being able to interview a few bands. Honestly, the crowd was down from a year ago. One of the groups kind enough to chat with me was Those Who Fear, a hardcore outfit on Facedown Records. They were a long way from their hometown of Pittsburgh, PA, and it showed a little bit in our short interview. I think they must have been driving all night, because they seemed a little tired.… Continued →

REVIEW : UGLYTWIN - Oh, The Cost

Anyone can throw some dissonant intervals together and make something that is noisy, but it takes something special to use chaos and noise to create something musical. After listening to UGLYTWIN's debut full length Oh, The Cost, I think it's safe to say that they may have that something special. Passionate lyrics, ferocious vocals, dissonant but creative guitar playing, and relentless drumming form the outline for their debut album, and it's anything but empty.
