The Best of 2017: Noah Hardwick

1. Colony House “Only The Lonely” Only The Lonely really struck a cord with my personally. Every song on this album revolves around our need for each other–a message I sorely need to hear. Thankfully, this record rocks and got spun a lot in 2017. 2. Knox Hamilton “The Heights” Named after a neighborhood in Little Rock, Arkansas, The Heights is most most played album of 2017. Maybe I’m a little bias because Knox Hamilton is from my hometown. Or maybe the album is just that good.… Continued →

Best of 2017: Casey Gallenberger

Here is my “deluxe” review list for 2017 – 20 great albums paired with 17 EPs you shouldn’t overlook. This year, we saw strong releases from veteran acts and new groups alike, and they certainly weren’t confined to one genre. Hopefully you can find a new artist through the list below – and please let me know your opinions in the comments! *Denotes IVM Artist Albums 1.*’68 – Two Parts Viper This abrasive return to form by one of our generation’s most iconic rock duos manages to top their previous release, with a succulent mix of rock, grunge, hardcore, funk, and plenty of passion.… Continued →

Switchfoot Announce Hiatus

The men in Switchfoot have announced their hiatus in 2018. They’ve been a band for 20 years which is quite an accomplishment. The fact that these core guys could stick together this long and put out a consistent set of cherished songs for 2 decades is admirable. I wish them the best and thanks for all the years of entertaining, uplifting and well loved songs. We were meant to live for so much more, indeed.… Continued →

CPR Band (a Petra-related project) have released their album “Back to the Rock II” on their website. “Back to the Rock II” is a continuation of Classic Petra’s 2010 album “Back to the Rock”, featuring 9 re-recorded Petra songs and an Aerosmith cover. It all started when a friend of Louie’s approached him one day and said, “Louie, I believe God wants you guys to do another CD.… Continued →

Support BrokenFM GoFundMe to Repair and Replace Burnt Equipment from the Nor Cal Fires

Please support my friends Tim Hopkins and Chris Kuhner in getting the incredible independent Christian alt-rock station BrokenFM back up on the air. I absolutely love this station and support their efforts at putting positive, hopeful music out there in the world. BrokenFM lost their transmitting towers/equipment. BrokenFM has been kind to IVM recently in playing tracks from some of our artists both on air and through internet streaming. It’s a tragedy what happened back a month or two ago with those fires up North.… Continued →

Bring Anberlin Back!

While Anberlin remain as a much loved personal favorite and staple of my music diet, I can’t help but wonder if it has been just too short of time for a “reunion” to happen. What say you, is 3 years not enough time to have a full Anberlin reunion, tour, and album or should they wait a couple more years? I guess if Underoath can come back so soon, so can Anberlin. The members of Anberlin can all have their own unique spin off projects and solo stuff but nothing will ever compete in the same fashion with the mighty music of Anberlin.… Continued →

REVIEW : The Ongoing Concept - Places

“Originality, I give up” screams Dawson Scholz on “The Print.” After two years since their last album, all band members leaving except for him, The Ongoing Concept returns with new members (Andy Crateau – guitar, vocals; Cody Rhodes – drums; Ian Nelson – bass) and their third full-length. I have an unpopular opinion to confess: I didn’t like Handmade all that much. Sure, it was beyond impressive that the band made their own instruments, and songs like “Amends” and “Unwanted” are very catchy, but I don’t find myself returning to the majority of songs. … Continued →

Supertones show), as well as 2 surprise tracks from the PAX217 reunion show at the House of Blues in 2013. If this doesn’t sound good enough, this album is going to be released in the “pay what you want” format.… Continued →
