Five Iron Frenzy - When They Find You (Feat. Mike Herrera of MxPx)

In honor of Five Iron Frenzy day, the band drops hard hitting new song – “When They Find You”. The song features backing vocals from Mike Herrera of long running left coast punk act, MxPx. Listening to this song first time through I made up assumptions and drew targets to throw foam darts at in the hopes making my confusion stick somehow. I read through some comments on different social media sites, scratching my head reading some of the responses then instantly connected with the lyrics Reese Roper posted in the comments of the FIF page (Facebook).… Continued →

Nate Parrish - Attention Junkies (Official Lyric Video)

Nate Parrish is the kind of artist you can’t just listen to once. In fact, you’ll be addicted upon that first listen, being drawn into that raw, yet melodic punk rock spirit Nate Parrish is keeping alive through his passions and talent. There is certainly nothing boring or bland about this music. The music he makes straddles the line between raw punk rock authenticity and a commercial sound worthy of repeated listens on radio/tv/media. Taylor Swift’s jaw drops when Nate Parrish picks up his guitar and begins singing.… Continued →

Do I Smell a Ghoti Hook Reunion?

There are rumblings in the Ghoti Hook camp that could spell something new from the band which would be their first “official” reunion of the band members since 2002. A rather cryptic post dropped on their Facebook page here a couple days ago which has left people guessing. Check out the post and picture below to see if you can figure it out. No, I do not have any insider info on this one so I am right in line with the rest of you. Continued →

Next In Line to Possibly Reunite?

Nothing like a good news story to sorta, kinda, maybe drop a hint that a former Indie Vision Music band “might” get back together and “might” celebrate 20 years of “Traffic” next year. There has to be some interest out there so let your voices be heard loud and clear. Do you want to see ALL of their pre-Indie Vision Music, 2003 Indie Vision Music, post-Indie Vision Music, and all the fun unreleased stuff in between, finally get posted up on digital networks? There have been a lot of songs here and there that dropped on the Indie Vision Music website over the years dating back 2005 when the store/label morphed into a webzine.… Continued →

SHORTHANDED Have Returned

Another awesome blast from the past punk rock band called – Shorthanded, have returned and will grace our ears with their musical presence very soon. The band have been recording new stuff at The Blasting Room in Colorado and the songs will be available in the coming months. Members of Crux and Shorthanded intermingled back in the 1990s and each did their own thing with great love and admiration. Go back and spin some of the early Shorthanded material and get ready for the new stuff.… Continued →

Craig's Brother - The Sacrifice (New Song)

Craig’s Brother released their fantastic new album titled “Easily Won, Rarely Deserved” just last week and it is already reaching countless numbers of punk rock fans the world over and garnering very favorable reviews. I enjoy so many of the songs off the new album and find it extremely difficult to skip any of them. This is just one of the many good ones that appear on this latest full length album. It has a deep, profound emotional connection and Ted’s lyrics show a side many other bands struggle to put forth in their own songs.… Continued →

Craig's Brother Release New Song "Rodeo Clown"

Craig’s Brother release yet another new song off their upcoming album which drops November 11th. The song is titled “Rodeo Clown” and is a passionate ballad of sorts, similar to a couple tracks off the classic album “Lost at Sea” and “The Aaronic Blessing (Peace on Earth)” from The Insidious Lie. This is a powerful song, one that builds on emotion and connects on a very real human level. It is classic Craig’s Brother and yet modern enough to take them out of 90’s era.… Continued →

Have you been been aching for something new and something refreshing but the right band just hasn’t come on your radar yet? Well my friends Protect Your Heart are here to level the playing field and offer some truly incredible music in their new album “re(introduction)” that just dropped yesterday. If you haven’t been following my posts this year and you’re new to the realm of pop punk music, let me just say that this band is perfect for your stereos and headphones. Don’t waste another second reading this and filling your head with boring hard rock crap.… Continued →

Last Chance Marie Joins Small Step Records

One of my favorite up and coming record labels called Small Step Records is a community of sorts and a breath of fresh air in a scene of sameness and monotony. The founder Paul Hyde is also a member of the band Grandpa Loves Rhinos which joins Homeplate, Light The Way, and now… Last Chance Marie! They are also another great punk rock band and have a solid sound that isn’t a copy of anyone. If you want good production along with a certain rawness only punk rock can bring you, then check out the music of Last Chance Marie.… Continued →

REVIEW : Too Bad Eugene - Distance

California based melodic punk act known as Too Bad Eugene, have just released their epic 3rd full length album via the label People of Punk Rock Records and I feel it’s their best so far. The band draws upon past influences, mixes it up with some modern takes and superb production style then delivers the goods the only way they’d know how to. All those group vocal harmonies and mass sing-a-longs are without a doubt sweet music to my ears. The 13 tracks run the gamut between a sense of discontentment and imbalance while looking toward hope and finding the strength enough to keep the fire lit and ultimately carrying on.… Continued →

Craig's Brother Release "Superhero"

Craig’s Brother just released one of their strongest songs since “Follow Your Heart”. This one is my favorite of the new stuff alongside Terrible Slave of course. It has that classic CB feel and adds a certain metallic guitar moment (even a solo), mid-way through the song. The music just flows so well and lyrically is as sharp as ever. Like their (mostly) unreleased song “Crutch”, there is a slight curse word which might turn off the grandparents, but it is fairly mild, just some excrement tossed around 😉 Check out “Superhero” below.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Twotimer - I Forget

Pop-punk band Twotimer released 2 albums and then called it quits. Very little is known about the band, other than their recorded output. After a self-titled and self-released debut in 1998, the band signed to punk stalwarts Screaming Giant Records and issued See What Happens from Here in 2000. The album featured snot-nosed, yet melodic tunes that bordered on pop-punk and new school/skate punk, but with vocal harmonies. Recommended for fans of Side Walk Slam, Shorthanded, and early MxPX. “I Forget” is taken from the Screaming Giant full-length album.… Continued →

REVIEW : Nate Parrish - Soul Surgery

Nate Parrish creates music unlike the majority of “popular”, “mainstream”, “indie”, and/or “punk” bands of today. He takes his years of experiences, wraps them up in a 14 song epic arrangement, and unleashes it on a weary music scene ripe for hope and change. From the artwork to the song choices, you can’t help but feel the music running through your body and infecting you with nothing but pure positivity. I liken the music of Nate Parrish to music of yesteryear that spoke truth without boundaries and shared honesty in ways most of the modern day brethren are too afraid to venture out into.… Continued →

Song of the Day: MxPx - Want Ad

Y’all better to get ready to put your boxing gloves on. You ready for this? Pokinatcha is the best MxPx (Magnified Plaid) album. Why? It was melodic, but still very much punk–bordering even on old school hardcore at times. It’s by far their most unique record, before they settled into the more polished pop-punk sound that everyone remembers. To be clear, I have no problem with the direction they later took (except for maybe moving further away from Christian spirituality and theology as the years went by, but that’s another post altogether).… Continued →

REVIEW : Light The Way - Long Story Short

Light The Way began in 2016 and started off releasing their fantastic debut ep, “Grace”. They followed that up in the following 3 years with – “Dude, Lame” (EP) in 2017, “False Memory Syndrome” in 2018, and “Dad Gang” (EP) in 2019. I’m proud to say I had the most excellent opportunity to be involved in the album release process for all of those releases. I will forever be grateful for the chance to live out my dreams releasing positive, faith-centered, pop-punk music with a strong message about hope, love, grace, and peppered generously with fun and witty lyrics.… Continued →

GFM - Framing My Perception (New Song)

GFM just dropped a brand new song which is their first for 2022 and as a part of Rockfest Records. The 3 sisters have found their sound and that sound is astounding, taking them to the next level. I’ve always thought these girls had it in them to record soaring music that would touch the lives of many but just needed a little extra push. “Framing My Perception” is that perfect push and if this doesn’t get played on radio or have their video shared, then tell me I’m wrong.… Continued →

The Blamed have been dropping little hints about recording a new album and well friends, they’ve done it! The band is in a studio NOW, recording what will be their next full length record. April Fools, Are You There?

I would just like to take a moment before I start posting all these news stories from my home here in sunny Southern California, to say, hello, are you there? Seriously though, this April Fools may have gotten a bit out of hand in regards to the amount of Makeshift3 news stories and if you were offended just keep in mind, most of us have been severely affected by the sheer multitude of SPAM. This may be the very last post mentioning Makeshift3 on Indie Vision Music.… Continued →

UnoriginalVinyl & Tooth & Nail Records Join Forces to Press "Fluorescent Black" On Vinyl For the First Time

In what seems like one of the most unlikeliest of all scenarios, well, it has somehow magically come to fruition. Unless I was caught up in some sort of unforeseen nightmare or tripped out from not having enough carbs on this KETO diet, or a lithium overdose, the very first pressing of “Fluorescent Black” by the darlings of punk-metal – Makeshift3, is a go. The beautifully handcrafted, time tested elements of this package will include the original album all freshly remixed by Tom Lord-Alge and mastered by Bob Ludwig.… Continued →

Members of Homeplate and Makeshift3 Form New Ultraband - Makeaplate365

There are moments in history that change things forever. Lincoln and the Gettysburg Address. Armstrong and the moon. Peter Griffin and the Chicken. The latest to be added to this list is the brand new ultraband comprised of members from 2 of the hottest up and coming punk bands – Homeplate and Makeshift3. When asked about the band, called Makeaplate365, Cody Thompson, drummer of now defunct “Homeplate” had this to say “It is a pyramid scheme. I’m really worried for my friend. Now excuse me while I hit this BBQ sauce.”Continued →

Nate Parrish is about to unleash album #2 in just 2 short weeks from today. On April 8th 2022, the album “Soul Surgery” will be unveiled and soon following will be much acclaim and admiration for Nate’s work. I’m about to dive in to the album as of this writing so I’ll let you know what I think in the next week or so. From the 2 songs revealed thus far and all the song clips, this just might be one of my favorite albums of 2022, and it’s still early in the year!.… Continued →
