Signal Versus Noise - Take It From Me

Signal Versus Noise just dropped their new anthem in recognition of Suicide and Prevention Month. This beautiful song has some pretty inspiring lyrics meant to offer hope for those seeking solace from the pain of mental anguish. You are not alone in this fight. I too struggle with mental health issues and understand your plight. Never be alone, never be ashamed, and never stop seeking help. There is hope, there is an answer, and there is a remedy for your pain. Prayer and a Christ centered support system is amazing as is dr assisted psychological help.… Continued →

I’ve personally been pretty eager for some new material from the band, and yesterday I got my wish, as did all other GFM fans out there. Check out the new GFM track, “On the Inside” below and get yourself the single here.… Continued →

Throwback Thursday: Anberlin - New Surrender

In this weeks edition of my Throwback Thursday series we’ve got Anberlin’s album New Surrender which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this Sunday. Brandon included New Surrender in his list of the best albums of 2008 feature last month, here’s what he had to say about it: There was a time years ago where I ripped the direction Anberlin took with this album and I now regret those words. This was a polished, commercial sounding record but the songs resonated with me and listeners across the globe.… Continued →

Pray for Rowen

I’ve seen this posted around facebook/instagram and I wanted to our support as well. Josh Auer who has been an active member of the music scene for over 2 decades now and has played with groups like Pax217, OC Supertones, Avner, Phil Wickham, and more recently his own project CHPTRS, has had the unfortunate task of caring for a very ill young child named “Rowen”, alongside his wife Amanda. Little Rowen has suffered a traumatic illness and heart trouble which has caused significant strain on their family.… Continued →

The Altar Boys - A Voice Lost, A Voice Found (The Story Behind 'No Substitute')

The long running, “legends in the making” Christian band known as The Altar Boys who have survived for decades and somehow come out on top with their best album ever, “No Substitute”. The group has just offered a behind the scenes glimpse of just why it is they returned with this new album after a nearly 25 year absence from new recorded music. The fact that their music has endured for different generations and continued to influence youth who are now adults with families of their own is testament to the power of music and Faith.… Continued →

10 Essential Christian thrash albums that you MUST hear before you die

I don’t know what you think of when you hear the term “heavy metal” or more specifically “Christian metal.” Do you think of spandex or goat heads? Hairspray and makeup or the devil? Fortunately for the bands in this list, none of those things are really the issue. I started getting in underground music somewhere around 1988. (Yes, I’m old.) I started out listening to mainstream Christian rock like Petra and Russ Taff, then got into heavier stuff like Whitecross, Sacred Warrior and Jerusalem. And then .… Continued →

Moda Spira Bang

Moda Spira's "Bang" Laments Lost Love

Heartbreak is certainly abundant in many modern songs, but rarely do songs tackle the subject with pure vulnerability. “Bang”, the first single from Moda Spira‘s (Latifah Alattas) upcoming album, Divorce, is a weighty, soulful track. The announcement that the relationship is coming to an end is described as a piercing gunshot, both sudden and devastating. Divorce is due 10/26 and you can preorder it here. Listen to “Bang” below: Continued →

Remedy Drive - Warlike (Official Music Video)

So this video was released back in January of this year along with their new album “The North Star” and I must say that it is a heavy hitter. I can’t believe I overlooked this release and didn’t give it proper promotion right here on IVM. Remedy Drive have created music that is deep and rich in content, overflowing with complex symbolism and a certain sense of urgency. You don’t come across music like this in Christian music scene all that often and I really enjoy this track as well as the album.… Continued →

Switchfoot Tease Album 11[UPDATE: Hiatus is Over]

UPDATE:  Switchfoot has confirmed the end of their hiatus in a new video and announced that the journey begins 10/19/2018!
Original Post: Switchfoot have taken to social media to tease album number 11. The band uploaded an picture of an “11” last night leaving fans to guess what it means. Naturally one can only assume they’re teasing their 11th studio album, but after the April Fool’s Day video teasing metal cover of “Meant to Live” it’s anybody’s guess. Speaking of that video though, it referred to “Project 11” and teased a October 2018 release date.… Continued →

Throwback Thursday: House of Heroes - The End is Not the End

Prepare to feel old. After reading Brandon’s feature “The Best of 2008: 10 Years, A Look Back” a few weeks ago I’ve been digging through my music collection looking for more albums celebrating their 10 year anniversary only to realize 2008 was a great year for music! Which made me decide it’s time we give some of these great albums from the past the recognition they deserve. So naturally I hijacked the popular hashtag #ThrowbackThursday to bring you a new feature that celebrates the anniversaries of some classic albums.… Continued →
