I don’t know what it is but maybe today’s dark and stormy skies along with a heavy downpour elicits a moody yet introspective response to music. A song such as “Handshake” really makes you stop and think. I still believe after all these years that the band Black Eyed Sceva (and later known as ‘Model Engine’) were brilliant songwriters, Jeremy Post in particular. There was something magical in their music and the way they conveyed these emotions through song. Scott Hunter (Poor Old Lu singer), Jesse Sprinkle (Poor Old Lu/Demon Hunter/Dead Poetic and tons others), Kurt Schmidt, and Anthony Carvalho have all teamed up under the name “Bright and Harrowing“. First of all, Furnace Fest will make a return in 2020 with an as yet to be determined/announced lineup….except in the case of BELOVED. Yep, the highly underrated Solid State Records band who released an Ep and Full length on Solid State Records (plus some other indie recordings pre-Solid State) before calling it quits with a few members joining other bands like Advent and The Almost (among others), IS BACK and ready to rock your faces off. For those not following IVM social media, the band Inner 29 are releasing their debut EP “Now and Again, Here” via Indie Vision Music on November 22nd. In case you were living in the dark, the band Eleventyseven have been putting out quite a few independent releases the past couple of years all of which are awesome in their own right.
