Song of the Day: Black Eyed Sceva - Handshake

I don’t know what it is but maybe today’s dark and stormy skies along with a heavy downpour elicits a moody yet introspective response to music. A song such as “Handshake” really makes you stop and think. I still believe after all these years that the band Black Eyed Sceva (and later known as ‘Model Engine’) were brilliant songwriters, Jeremy Post in particular. There was something magical in their music and the way they conveyed these emotions through song. Introducing: Bright and Harrowing

A new band has just burst on to the scene. I got word of this on social media today and thought I’d share. Scott Hunter (Poor Old Lu singer), Jesse Sprinkle (Poor Old Lu/Demon Hunter/Dead Poetic and tons others), Kurt Schmidt, and Anthony Carvalho have all teamed up under the name “Bright and Harrowing“. Beloved (US) Make Triumphant Return at the 2020 Edition of Furnace Fest

First of all, Furnace Fest will make a return in 2020 with an as yet to be determined/announced lineup….except in the case of BELOVED. Yep, the highly underrated Solid State Records band who released an Ep and Full length on Solid State Records (plus some other indie recordings pre-Solid State) before calling it quits with a few members joining other bands like Advent and The Almost (among others), IS BACK and ready to rock your faces off. Names Without Numbers - Style (Taylor Swift Cover)

This launched yesterday and IVM is a day late in posting (I blame my turkey hangover). Names Without Numbers and Indie Vision Music have just released the band’s new single “Style” which is a Taylor Swift cover and done extremely well. The song will appear on the band’s upcoming full length “Silos & Smokestacks” due out December 13th. The song is available now on all digital networks. Something many of us fans have been eagerly waiting years for and a favorite album among Stavesacre fans, “Speakeasy”, is getting the vinyl treatment in time for the album’s 20th anniversary. Eleventyseven Launch Kickstarter for New Album, Already Funded!

In case you were living in the dark, the band Eleventyseven have been putting out quite a few independent releases the past couple of years all of which are awesome in their own right.
