Rebecca St. James Returns With First New Song in 9 Years

Rebecca St. James, a legend in her own right, is back with her first NEW song in 9 years titled “Battle Is The Lord’s”. Check out the lyric video for this really catchy electronic driven new track. This has more in common with Ellie Goulding and For King & Country than her prior more contemporary elevator pop music. This is really great stuff (in my opinion). The song also features Brandon Lake of Bethel Music. Rebecca St James will release her new EP through Heritage Music soon.… Continued →

Have you heard of Jack Of All Trades?

Finnish rapcore at its finest in the early days of nu-metal. Simply said, this is one of the most high energy bands imho ever (just see the video for their song “Point of No Return”). It seems they did not keep the same label as each release was through a different one. Having formed in 1997, their debut LP (aptly titled) RU Ready was released on Bullroser (the Finnish label responsible for releasing several musical heavyweight artists such as Deuteronomium & HB) in 1999. They released a few singles & EPs before releasing their 2002 monster Superior.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Crimson Thorn - Thy Neighbor

Lovers of traditional, old school death metal will know there is a significant lack of it coming from bands with a Christian worldview. The reasons for this are complex, and we won’t get into them here, except to say that it probably has something to do with the lyrical themes that often accompany their secular counterparts: death, gore, and the occult all being regular topics. Minnesota’s Crimson Thorn have often led the way in Christ-centered brutal death metal. Building on work from predecessors like Australia’s Mortification, CT got even heavier and unlike the boys from down under, Crimson Thorn didn’t dabble in other styles.… Continued →

They released their critically acclaimed full length “Phantoms” in 2005. The first new single “Cold Air”, will be out next week through all digital networks. Names Without Numbers to Drop 20th Anniversary Edition of Debut EP on July 3rd

Two special things are happening next month, the 20th anniversary of Indie Vision Music and the 20th anniversary re-release of the debut EP from my pals in Names Without Numbers! This 20th anniversary edition re-release features re-imagined artwork, and a remastered version of all 5 songs found on the EP. Available digitally and possibly on Vinyl. It is a beautiful snapshot of a particular time in music history. This band at that time filled the void between early bands like Jimmy Eat World, The Juliana Theory, Thursday, Further Seems Forever, Taking Back Sunday, and Brandtson.… Continued →

Check Out Slow Coming Day's New Album on All Digital Networks

Slow Coming Day “Quarantine Sessions” dropped 2 weeks ago and is making a splash in the hearts of indie music fans across the globe. This acoustic driven indie rock release features new and old songs all re-imagined and created during the quarantine lock down. Orion Walsh knows how to create a moving, beautiful song and this release is certainly no exception. I strongly recommend the songs “Father, Friend”, “Watching LA Fall Apart”, “Loneliness Settles In” and “A Mere Accident (Revisited)”. Orion Walsh and bandmates plan to play a few backyard/lawn parties this summer and hopefully make an appearance at a fest or two.… Continued →

Introducing: Mahalath (Industrial Metal)

I’d like to take a moment and introduce our readers to this cool new industrial/electronic/rock project known as Mahalath. The project features dark sounds and industrial like moodiness running through with fists in the air like urgency. Making one think isn’t always at the forefront of some artists in the music scene but Joel Holycross (Mayfly) and this new project is certainly a different take on substance in music. Read more below and listen to the first song “The Proxy”.… Continued →

Song of The Day: Every New Day - Silent Streets

The song “Silent Streets” appears on the 2nd official (or 3rd if you’re keeping count) album from this punk/hardcore band out of Canada called “Every New Day“. It appeared on the album, “Even In The Darkest Places”. This song was unlike most I’d heard in the genre around that time period. END pieced together hardcore, punk rock, and hard rock to create an explosive mix. Elements of your favorite bands from the 00’s taken to a whole other level and with the sound quality/production most bands only dreamed about.… Continued →

My Statement On The Movement

Greetings friends and fellow Readers. I just wanted to drop a few lines about the meaning behind my silence and lack of words regarding the protests, murder of George Floyd and Black Lives Matter. First off, I support freedom of speech from each and every side. Protests are a part of that freedom our grandparents, great grandparents, elders, and all those relatives of the past fought so hard to defend. I support the rights of those that want to stand up and get their voices heard.… Continued →

REVIEW : Shadow Puncher - All Glory to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords Part II

I’ve reviewed 3 different releases from Shadow Puncher (for 2 different publications), and one of the things I’ve noticed is the diversity of sounds and influences on each project. While the one-man band from Norway functions within the death metal genre, each release has a different feel. The earliest material had a strong thrash influence, then moved into a djent-heavy sound. This EP is the first to utilise keyboards in a prominent way, thus adding a progressive element. After a 1-minute ambient keyboard intro, “One End of Heaven” rips into the speakers with brutal rhythms, blastbeats and plenty of time changes.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Mad at the World - It Can't Rain Forever

Mad at the World has had a very interesting and diverse career as a band. They started out doing somewhat dark synth-pop on their self-titled debut (in the vein of Depeche Mode, New Order, Clan of Xymox), then added guitars to their new wave sound for Flowers in the Rain. By their third album, they ditched the synths and morphed into a full-fledged alternative rock band with metallic influences. This carried on for three albums (Seasons of Love, Boomerang, and Through the Forest).… Continued →
