Song of the Day: Slick Shoes - Last

Among the plethora of pop-punk bands in the Christian scene, Slick Shoes were one of the best, probably top 5 out of hundreds. Formed in 1994 in Southern California (like most Christian pop-punk bands), they released their debut EP for Tooth & Nail in 1997, then proceeded to release 6 full-lengths, a split with mainstream band Autopilot Off (FKA Cooter) and a live album.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Nobody Special - Finger Pointer

I first heard Nobody Special in 1989. My local contemporary Christian music radio station (KOKF 91.1 FM out of Oklahoma City) played their new album in its entirety over the airwaves. You see, KOKF was not your average CCM station. Sure, they played some adult contemporary and “inspirational” stuff during the daytime, but as the late afternoon and evening hit, they would feature more contemporary styles including pop, rap, rock, etc.… Continued →

Light The Way Will Demolish 2021 With Their Infectious Pop-Punk Energy

Light The Way will return this year with quite possibly, THE BEST pop-punk album in years. The band known for their high energy, spirit-filled, unique sound is quite remarkable in a scene with run of the mill relationship driven songs and profanity laden banter. The band seek to change things up by connecting with audiences in a deeply emotional, honest, and spiritual way.… Continued →

Too Bad Eugene Returns

One of my favorite 00’s pop-punk/melodic punk acts – Too Bad Eugene, returns this year with new music. While we await such a magnificent return by Adam Nigh and company, the band has just put up the now classic year 2000 full length, “At Any Rate”, for download and streaming on all digital networks.… Continued →

Portuguese Christian Punk and Hardcore on Spotify

Hey Everyone! I pray all is well! I wanted to inform everyone of a new Spotify playlist I put together. I've been listening to a lot of foreign Christian artists lately. Portuguese is the second most foreign language of artists in my collection, so I thought people need to hear and know about this.

Song of the Day: Incomplete - Last Night

We now approach the 20th anniversary of this now classic punk rock split release between 1 huge fan favorite band – Dogwood, and 1 lesser known, extremely underrated melodic “new school punk” band, Incomplete. I’m left feeling sentimental just looking at the simple artwork and being reminded of two extremely important bands of my youth.… Continued →
