Song of the Day: Pantokrator - The Order of Melchisedec

This Swedish death metal band formed in 1996, and has been active ever since. They immediately began recording cassette demos, initially focusing on traditional death metal and morphing over time into more a melodic and progressive take on the genre. Of course, Sweden is known for its melodeath sound, centered in Gothenburg, but Pantokrator are from the opposite side of the southern peninsula. Lyrically the band tend to feature songs about biblical mysteries, not your typical Christian metal fare. Rather than topics of salvation and judgment, they tell stories about obscure characters like the Nephilim, the legendary and quasi-biblical Lilith, and Melchisedec, featured here.… Continued →

INTERVIEW : New Band Spotlight: Voluntary Mortification

While I’d been hearing their name pop up here and there on the internet, I was fully introduced to Voluntary Mortification’s music when I caught them opening for As Lions and Lambs here in Indianapolis. Shortly after that press manager, Mason Beard got in touch to request an interview. I got the lowdown on all things Voluntary Mortification, including the origins of that interesting band name, when I caught up with guitarist Jacob Kanclerz, and vocalist Conner Luttig. IVM: Tell me a little about the band name.Continued →

Song of the Day: Doomsday Hymn - Mene Tequel Ufarsim

Brazilian Doomsday Hymn remind me of Sepultara or Soulfly for some reason with their 2015 Rottweiler Records release. This post is in anticipation of an upcoming possible new release as they teased 3 newer songs back in 2018/2019 respectively. Today’s SOTD & album name is a play on MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN from the book Of Daniel when the handwriting on the wall doomed Belshazzar’s kingdom that was about to be conquered by the Medes & Persians which also eludes to the band’s name. BROTALITY Detonates an Insane Heavy Metal Bomb

A new band I’ve just become acquainted with called BROTALITY, have dropped their heavy metal explosion of an album titled “Worldwide Desolation” and it’s a total winner. This band is super young, all teenagers, but don’t let that stop you from consuming their overwhelmingly solid sound. Age is nothing more than a number and in the case of this band on a scale of 1 to 100, they clock in at AWESOME. It’s heavy, brutal at times, and with an altogether melodic undercurrent blending it all together.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Symphony of Heaven - Deathmarch

Here is a nice adult contemporary Sunday SOTD for ya…NOT!!!! This artist consists of an acquaintance of mine Logan Thompson who started solo back in 2016 who hails from Indiana, USA. What drew this fan twas the name & the debut single In Anger’s Midst. Since then, I hung out with most of the band members at my local festival Audiofeed (which is what Cornerstone festival became). Covid has deterred us Christian metal heads from hanging out again this year. His patch “WE are Metal, We Are Family” refers to Pastor Bob’s Sanctuary International.… Continued →

And please remember, if you do end up finding something new, please support the artist by picking up some of their music! 1. Amongst The Giants – Obscene Part of the roster of the fairly new label, Rockfest Records, this hard rock/metal outfit released not just the best album of 2018, but the best in their genre over the past few years.… Continued →

XIII Minutes - Machaira (Lyric Video)

We are excited to bring you the brand new lyric video from Rottweiler Records act, XIII Minutes. The song is titled “Machaira” and can be purchased right here via bandcamp. I’ve been pleasantly surprised that “Machaira” has been as well received as it has. It’s a bit slower in tempo than what we’ve released to date. Not that I’m complaining though… I appreciate Indie Vision Music for premiering this lyric video. It’s been my favorite one. There is a subtle, yet powerful imagery to it.Continued →

Death Requisite Loses Member, Begins Working on New Material

The symphonic death metal band, Death Requisite has some upsetting news but also some equally exciting news, which I suppose equals everything out. On July 14, the band announced the departure of the band’s singer, Vincent St. James, after 4 years of being apart of the band. James was on the band’s most recent album and Rottweiler Records’ debut Revisitation. The two split ways on friendly terms. On July 31, the band would also announce they were writing new material. I’m personally a little bit upset about James’ departure.… Continued →
