I was going to write a little intro to this list of mine, but in the end I figured I’d just let it speak for itself. Alot of great music dropped despite all the year brought us and these are my top 20. Let me know what you think!     20.… Continued →

REVIEW : Relent - Heart Attack (Revisited Review)

A little over a year ago, I wrote a review for “Heart Attack” by new(er) nu metal band, Relent. Recently, the band has re-released the ep on Rockfest Records and so, I thought I’d re-review the re-release. Without looking back to the review done last March, let’s revisit “Heart Attack”, including the newly added tracks.… Continued →

Relent Drop New Track, "Low"

If you’ve yet to hear Relent, you’re missing out. The nu metal/hard rock outfit from San Antonio came out swinging with their debut ep, “Heart Attack” last year that was a front to back slammer. The band has more recently signed with Rockfest Records with plans to re-release the debut ep, which will include their newest song, “Low”.… Continued →

The Letter Black Signs To Rockfest Records

In an announcement made earlier tonight, The Letter Black announced they’ve signed with Rockfest Records. Not much else is firmed up at the time of this post, such as when to expect the first single or new album, but there are shows scheduled starting in June (tentatively, for obvious reasons). Rockfest Records has been in the practice of signing some really great bands since their inception just over 2 years ago…what do you guys think of this signing?… Continued →

Zahna - "Your Gun, My Knife"

Zahna has quickly become a favorite of mine. Her debut album, “Red For War”, dropped last year and really exceeded my expectations. Hard hitting hard rock, smooth melodic vocals, powerful screams…it really impressed. “Your Gun, My Knife” was one of the tracks that stood out to me on my first few listens and today, the music video for that song was released.… Continued →

Introducing Rockfest Radio

Rockfest. The name is carrying more and more clout as the days pass, and rightfully so. Founded by Seventh Day Slumber frontman, Joseph Rojas, Rockfest kicked off as the City Rockfest Tour that would showcase both up and coming bands as well as more seasoned acts, all pretty exceptional. This year’s lineup will feature Righteous Vendetta, Seventh Day Slumber, The Protest, Random Hero, Zahna and Amongst the Giants.… Continued →

Best of 2018: Rob Jensen

2018 had a number of great albums, all of which I couldn’t list here, but after careful consideration, these are my top 20, none of which are listed lightly. See which ones you’d have picked out and maybe find some new music to check out. And please remember, if you do end up finding something new, please support the artist by picking up some of their music!… Continued →

REVIEW : The Protest - Legacy

The world  is full of grit, seriousness, and dark themes within media. Whenever something “fun” comes around, it’s a nice change of pace.  The Protest’s debut album on Rockfest records, Legacy, provides a Christ-centered, lighthearted yet heavy hitting album that’s perfect for some summertime head-banging. The southern rock intro and uplifting chorus of the opening track “Valor” kicks off the album in full force and doesn’t let up until the album ends.… Continued →

Amongst the Giants - Lost In Translation

Amongst the Giants is a relatively newer band signed to Rockfest Records. The lineup includes Seventh Day Slumber drummer, Blaise Rojas, Brian Boyd, and Marco Pera. The three-piece has a really great, monstrous sound that walks the line of hard rock and metal. You can catch them on the Summer Rockfest tour this Summer with the likes of Seventh Day Slumber, Spoken, Random Hero, Zahna, and Gold, Frankincense, and Myrhh.… Continued →
