Song of the Day: Stavesacre - Gold & Silver

I’m starting a new feature here at IVM that’ll focus on a beautiful, important, and defining song for a particular band. Let’s start this feature off right and put the focus on the music of Stavesacre, particularly the song “Gold & Silver”. I remember 20 years ago hearing this album (Speakeasy) which had this almost “ballad” like track named “Gold & Silver” then being struck in the heart heavily by it’s somber melodies, inspired lyrical delivery, and that unmistakable voice of Mark Salomon. This is beyond just a typical ballad you’d hear in a grocery store, shopping mall, etc.… Continued →

The band has been quickly climbing rock charts all over the country and abroad with their infectious hard rock/alternative sound that can best be described as a cross between Incubus, Deftones, Disciple, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Dead Poetic, Funeral for a Friend, and just all around great sounding rock n’ roll. They keep it real and completely original, throwing in their own personal touch that keeps them separate from all the sound-alikes and clones out there.… Continued →

Remedy Drive - Warlike (Official Music Video)

So this video was released back in January of this year along with their new album “The North Star” and I must say that it is a heavy hitter. I can’t believe I overlooked this release and didn’t give it proper promotion right here on IVM. Remedy Drive have created music that is deep and rich in content, overflowing with complex symbolism and a certain sense of urgency. You don’t come across music like this in Christian music scene all that often and I really enjoy this track as well as the album.… Continued →

The band consists of former Sent by Ravens members and they play a sound in that same vein but in an even grander scope. REVIEW : The Protest - Legacy

The world  is full of grit, seriousness, and dark themes within media. Whenever something “fun” comes around, it’s a nice change of pace.  The Protest’s debut album on Rockfest records, Legacy, provides a Christ-centered, lighthearted yet heavy hitting album that’s perfect for some summertime head-banging. The southern rock intro and uplifting chorus of the opening track “Valor” kicks off the album in full force and doesn’t let up until the album ends. The lyrics of the chorus are focused on persevering through hard times through Christ, “All the oppression we will take it, take it in stride.”Continued →

With all these new reunions fresh in our minds and the rivers of nostalgia running deep, it was only time before the mighty Squad 5-0 came back and dropped a new album on us. According to the band’s official Instagram page (sorry I’m not aware of any Facebook pages that are current), they may be working on a new album and teased with like 1 second guitar clip. Whether or not this is true remains a mystery much like the band themselves. Let’s hope for one more rockin’ ruckus of a new album.… Continued →
