I’ll just come out and say it, “Deathbed” is quite possibly the best “Christian” song that has been written in the past 15 years. That is quite a statement to make and I’ll tell you why. First of all, bands who can create an 11 minute “epic” song with constant peaks and valleys all the while captivating the listener with a heavy dose of heart tugging melodrama, you know they are doing it right. I don’t know what it is and maybe that’s just me being a sentimental, sappy fool, but when I give this track a listen, I am left with a tear(s) streaming down my cheek.… Continued →

Nate Parrish Releases New Full Length Album "Make Me A Mountain"
I’ve been following Nate Parrish’s work since he first sent me “I’m a Wreck” randomly through the contact email for my website back in 2020. I’ve been hooked on his sound, music output, and his lyrical genius ever since then. It seems as though his songwriting, musicianship, honesty, and just the lyrics themselves, continue to improve to the point where we are witnessing Nate Parrish in his prime. He is making timeless music that will inspire not only old heads like myself but a whole generation of people seeking hope and answers in the dark, looking for substance in the art they consume.… Continued →

Magdalene Rose Drops New Single, "Hey, At Least I'm Feeling Something"
Magdalene Rose, formerly of Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh, has dropped a new single titled, “Hey, At Least I’m Feeling Something”.  Check it out below!
The track is pretty eclectic, featuring heavy guitars, some easycore/pop-punk feeling moments. This coupled with Maggie’s melodic, yet driving vocals make for an audible one-two punch sure to please long-time fans while garnering some new ones in the process.
But the heart of the song is found in the lyrics, which deal with the heavy subject of cutting. Very well crafted songwriting for such a weighty subject matter.… Continued →

GoFundMe to Benefit Ted Bond (Craig's Brother) and Family
It was revealed late last year that Craig’s Brother founding member and lead vocalist – Ted Bond, had indeed gotten a diagnosis of Lymphoma. A friend of Ted’s and the family has put together a special GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to help offset the costs associated with the coming medical bills associated with treatment and healing. Since I understand first hand the exorbitant costs from medical bills and deductibles to be met, I know it isn’t easy for many families to pay outright for them on a meager income.… Continued →

    TAKEHEART Release "History"
A new pop-punk band by the name of TAKEHEART with a definite Christian lyric center which is really cool and gives this a slight worship bent. Similar lyrically to bands like Light The Way, Homeplate, No Treaty, Take, Then It Ends, James Franchise, and other indie acts that aren’t afraid to share their spiritual center and love for Jesus but with music that doesn’t suck. This post is about a new band by the name of TAKEHEART and their brand new track “History” that you can listen to below.… Continued →

Sower Releases New Single, "Hollywood"
After bursting onto the scene with TWO EPs this year, Sower has been quickly paving the way for biblically-literate rock. But with “Hollywood”, Sower sets the stage for a different direction. The track is still anchored in Scripture, but the text is applied to our particular moment of cultural chaos – and the ways professing Christians buy into the lies of our age. “Hollywood” is not shy to cover these sins by name, reminding believers of the ugliness and destruction which follows them. The track is the first taste of an upcoming album on discernment, and it certainly sets the bar high.… Continued →

Light The Way - As If You Could Outrun Me (Official Music Video)
My friends in Light The Way return with another music video from their critically acclaimed new album “Expel”, and this track is titled “As If You Could Outrun Me”. This new record is the absolute best thing the band has ever done up until now. I was going to write a review but that will have to wait and instead they will be featured heavily, like high up, towering above, near the tippy top, for Brandon’s very own, “Best of 2024 List” coming soon to a (touch)screen near you!… Continued →

Song of the Day: LastPageFirst - Song For You
Pulling from the archives with this rare pop punk band, they were from Rochester, New York. Their LastFM bio is hilarious. This is from the last paragraph:  “LastPageFirst is definitely a band to watch in 2005. With their passion for touring, their amazing hooks and melodies, and an album and live show that is nothing short of stellar, LPF will soon have arenas full of young girls chanting their name.”

Light The Way "Expel" Out Now + Lyric and Audio Videos
So, Light The Way dropped what many consider to be the best album of their careers back on Friday, “Expel”. The album is a no holds barred, action packed, passionate and altogether adrenaline charged love letter to the lost, lonely, and broken hearted. There truly is something for everyone in these songs and in these powerful lyrics. Not only is there fun and light hearted tongue in cheek humor, but there is also serious subject matter and a cry out to God to deliver us from our brokenness and our despair.… Continued →

Song of The Day: Capital Lights - Honey Don't Jump
Today’s Song of The Day comes from a band called “Capital Lights”, which are little heard of this day and age and whose last album released all the way back in 2012. That was 12 years ago, can you believe it? This band released 2 fantastic albums. While some people didn’t find as much enjoyment in the last album (final?), I certainly did. One of the highlights (there are plenty) for me off that record was “Honey Don’t Jump”. With lyrics about pulling someone from the brink of depression only to show them God’s love, grace, and ultimately, salvation in him.… Continued →
