Throwback Review 6: Well-Wisher - Counselor
It’s that time of the week – Throwback Thursday! Today’s band showed a lot of promise but personal differences, growing up, and moving apart ultimately was the band’s demise. Well-Wisher stands as a great nod to what could have been.
History
Counselor was a melodic hardcore band with pop-punk and indie elements based out of Muskegon, MI. that released music during 2012 and 2013. A few singles preceded Well-Wisher and a fully EP followed. However, the latter suffers from incredibly poor production and mixing that sadly ruins the listening experience.… Continued →

Heliocentric releases "Moonshine"
A great independent Ambient metalcore act known as Heliocentric has released their debut song, titled “Moonshine”. The song is musically amazing and brings me to think of bands like What We Do in Secret and Wage War. The uncleans are very hardcore style, while the cleans seem like a power metal vocalist. The band is a one man project run by Jared Smith. This song is great, check it out below and go follow Heliocentric, or go buy it at Bandcamp!

Cristo Suburbano Volume 3
Real punk is harder to find these days – but hey, not everything will fit on a Tony Hawk soundtrack. Cristo Suburbano Volume 3 is equal parts overdriven, nostalgic, and Christ-focused. There’s a mix of punk, skate punk, hardcore, and other punk derivatives. Some of the songs are in English, though quite a few are in Spanish (as the title would indicate).
If you’re looking for a culture experience to remind you that neither Christianity nor punk are dead, check out the 56-track compilation below.

REVIEW : Easter Teeth - Shake Hands With Danger
Just as you can’t judge a book by its cover, neither should you be expecting cowboy music from Easter Teeth on Shake Hands With Danger. You can expect something oddly brilliant and challenging.
Since 2009, the Eymann brothers, Josh and Tim, have been messing with peoples ears as they mix soul into hardcore. Think what would happen if Death From Above 1979 were liberally coated with the soulfulness of James Brown, with a wild assortment of sounds thrown in from a box of unusual gadgets, and you get a hint of where Easter Teeth is heading.… Continued →
