It’s week 5 of our 7 Weeks of Switchfoot and that means the 2005 release, Nothing Is Sound, is up to bat. You likely won’t find many albums that flow better than this one from one track to the next and if you’ve missed out you can get it for $2 new at Amazon! Just be sure to give it time to grow on you.
For the past eight years, these five Texans have determinantely traveled the music business road. Many bands have walked (or rather, driven) this path – but A Road Less Traveled has continually proven themselves to be a cut above the rest. With a strong fan base, significant touring schedule, and two full-length releases, ARLT is poised to break through the indie scene rather soon. Their music posseses character, and many instrumental layers. Their songs are catchy and meaningful…and sure to be placed on “repeat.” Check out what they had to say in response to a few questions I sent their way:

Welcome to the second week of ‘7 Weeks of Switchfoot’! Today we explore their sophomore album, New Way to Be Human which was released in 1999. Derek Webb’s latest offering is a huge departure musically, playing with drum and bass, electro-pop, and other modern dancey sounds. His message is as strong as ever, looking at those who are so used to captivity they are afraid to live any other way.
