Song of the Day: The Festal Shout - Pounding Waves

The Festal Shout is a street punk band which reminds me of Flatfoot 56 or Hanover Saints. If you want to read a cool review see this article https://www.indievisionmusic.com/reviews/festal-shout-tumultuous-noise-ep/ . The bands name comes from Psalms 89: 14-18 ESV Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before you. Blessed are the people who know the festal shout, who walk, O Lord, in the light of your face, who exult in your name all the day and in your righteousness are exalted. … Continued →

REVIEW : 2Minute Minor - Snake That Ate It's Own Tail

I usually like to have some Kenny or Dolly playing on the turntable in the background as I start writing a review. It gives me the inspiration I need. NOT, but now that I have your attention I must point out that the opening track to this album comes blazing off the starting line at full speed. It’s a skull crushing track and the epic start of an album that brings back that late 80s hardcore punk vibe, and although I didn’t experience that era live, the videos and stories people tell bring it to life.… Continued →

REVIEW : October Bird of Death - Death made its offer

The windy city during the mid 90s was a whirlwind of punk rock bands that came and went, but their reputations and influence still resonate to this day. There is one modern day street punk band that has emerged from the shadows and is currently tearing up the city of Chicago one mosh pit at a time. That band is, October Bird Of Death. If the name hasn’t already caught your attention, I assure you, their music will.… Continued →

REVIEW : Ospreyshire - Verses Vs. Anhedonia

Ospreyshire, the moniker of Illinoisan artist Curtis M., is a project that involves spoken word vocals, abstract soundscapes, and postminimalist aesthetics. His debut EP Verses Vs. Anhedonia is a brief seven poem journey. The urgency and brevity in these tracks lend itself to our attention deficit and sound byte culture. Verses Vs. Anhedonia is a mini-concept EP that revolves around the brief psychological journey of someone who is losing interest in the meaning of life before slowly becoming aware that there’s some semblance of hope in this otherwise dark world.… Continued →
