Mae is Back and With a Brand New Song

After the past decade of just a few new songs here and there or a few re-releases (on vinyl) of their past catalog, the band MAE as a collective unit is BACK! Check out “5 Light Years” below via spotify. The song is available on all digital networks courtesy of Tooth & Nail Records. This reminds me of “Singularity” meets The Postal Service meets Sparta and Modest Mouse served in a bowl of Jimmy Eat World. It is electrifying, experimental, post-whatever everyone else is doing, and simply aggressive.… Continued →

Love & Death recording for New Album

Love & Death, the nu-metal band, have finally started working on new music. And just as I discovered that J.R. Bareis has left Islander, alongside the other two non-original members of Islander, they have begun guitar tracking with ex-Red, current Breaking Benjamin guitarist Jasen Rauch. The band currently consists of Brian Welch on vocals, J.R. on guitars and Dan Johnson on drums. Bassist Michael Valentine departed last year, without any official reason. Bareis and Rauch have begun recording guitars for the album.

REVIEW : Starflyer 59 - Slow

How many artists can you name with 14 studio albums? There probably aren’t too many. Jason Martin, the man behind Starflyer 59, not only has 14 LPs under his cosmic moniker, but he’s also released and contributed to numerous other projects such as Bon Voyage and Neon Horse. His “blue collar” approach to music (as notated in all his albums) has resulted in a prolific 23-year run in the music industry. Starflyer 59’s newest record, Slow, follows Jason looking back at all he’s been through along the way.… Continued →
