This is a big year not only for music, anniversaries, but also Indie Vision Music in general. Yes, my friends, this year is the 20th Anniversary of the website/store/label and everything IVM means to me. I thought of a few different things I could do for the anniversary but due to time constraints and well, this pandemic which has completely changed EVERYTHING about our daily lives, I decided to keep it simple. The pop-punk duo known as “Homeplate” are returning after just a few months from the release of their incredible debut EP, “Derby City”, to record MORE NEW MUSIC. That’s right friends, the guys will reconvene in the studio soon to lay down some new tracks for another EP. If you enjoyed “Derby City” as much as I did, you’re in for a real treat. A new group coming straight out of the North Pole called The Myrrhderers are here to spread some Christmas cheer and celebrate the holiday like only a punk rock band could. This super special group are releasing their debut Christmas only EP titled “The Myrrhderers Sleigh Christmas” on November 20th. For the first time in over 20 years, Officer Negative “Dead To The World” gets the vinyl treatment. Officer Negative’s 1998 debut full length on Screaming Giant Records has been meticulously remastered for vinyl with recreated art from the original photos, drawings, and graphics that inspired the original release. I had a hand in sharing this band with Screaming Giant Records founder, Kendall Nadeau, all the way back in 1996/1997 through their very early demos. I had originally wanted to do this re-release myself a few years back but just didn’t have the funds or resources to make it happen.… Continued →

Ted Bond (Lead Vocalist/Guitarist/songwriter for the band Craig’s Brother), his wife, and their children, have been displaced by the recent wildfires in Northern California and are unable to return home. They’ve had to evacuate and will not be allowed to return for some time. Basically they are homeless and just living day by day. CB guitarist and songwriter, Steven Neufeld, has started a Go Fund Me just to help Ted and Family get by during these difficult times. A lot of families are struggling through not only the pandemic, but also loss of work and income as a result and add to the mess of 2020 with these wildfires and you just have a terrible whole year.… Continued →

Thanks to a friend of mine, I have found a new band that I am instantly drawn to. You all need to check out the band The August Guns from Des Moines, IA. The band released a really cool 5 song EP titled “Born Into Noise” last year that I am almost positive slipped under most people’s radars. The band mixes up punk rock with post hardcore elements, alongside a certain Truth, a spiritual truth and a hope that binds it all together. A band that should be much bigger than they have been the past almost two decades – Much The Same, just released a remixed/remastered version of their classic 2003 full length “Quitters Never Win”. I am proud to welcome the Derby City based pop-punk act – Homeplate, to the Indie Vision Music family of artists. I wasn’t planning on “signing” any bands in 2020 but this one just fell into my lap and I couldn’t resist. Their debut single “Broken Youth” will be out July 24th to all digital networks and streaming sites. Slick Shoes are back with their first newly recorded album in over 17 years. “Far From Nowhere” marked the end of the last recorded Slick Shoes full length that saw a release in 2003 on Side One Dummy Records. The band is back and better than ever with a new full length effort titled “Rotation & Frequency” which was recorded with famed producer, Steve Kravac (Burn Out and Rusty). Saint Didacus which is the new music project of Josh Kemble (Lead Vocals/Lyricist) of Dogwood along with Andrew and Daniel Montoya who both played in the band Logos years ago. Danny was also a member of Dogwood for a long time, recording on the Seismic album and all recordings released from 2003 onward.
