Introducing: Bares His Teeth

I’d like to a take a moment and introduce you all to a new band by the name of Bares His Teeth. They are a post-hardcore/emo/indie rock band that really amplify the “rock” element and are here to present some super cool music (that will blow your mind, significantly). The band features some members who have played in bands like Dead To Fall, Eso-Charis, Living Sacrifice, Lovedrug, Norma Jean, NTVTY, SPACESHIPS, Subsist, and Unwed Sailor. The August Guns "Born Into Noise" Is a Surprise Punk Rock Gift Waiting to Be Found

Thanks to a friend of mine, I have found a new band that I am instantly drawn to. You all need to check out the band The August Guns from Des Moines, IA. The band released a really cool 5 song EP titled “Born Into Noise” last year that I am almost positive slipped under most people’s radars. The band mixes up punk rock with post hardcore elements, alongside a certain Truth, a spiritual truth and a hope that binds it all together. Check out the EP on all digital networks now and listen below via the band’s bandcamp page.… Continued →

Beloved (US) Return With a Blistering and Ferocious Cover of U2

Beloved (US) are not taking a back seat to this whole 2020 fiasco of a year. They have recorded a cover of a U2 song and I assume will release it any day now. Watch the teaser clip below. This band hasn’t lost one ounce of energy since their long hiatus and the energy is even more ferocious and on fire than it was in the past. It’s almost as if some of that Advent magic is rubbing off on this Beloved sound. So good.… Continued →

Names Without Numbers to Drop 20th Anniversary Edition of Debut EP on July 3rd

Two special things are happening next month, the 20th anniversary of Indie Vision Music and the 20th anniversary re-release of the debut EP from my pals in Names Without Numbers! This 20th anniversary edition re-release features re-imagined artwork, and a remastered version of all 5 songs found on the EP. Available digitally and possibly on Vinyl. It is a beautiful snapshot of a particular time in music history. This band at that time filled the void between early bands like Jimmy Eat World, The Juliana Theory, Thursday, Further Seems Forever, Taking Back Sunday, and Brandtson.… Continued →

Song of The Day: Every New Day - Silent Streets

The song “Silent Streets” appears on the 2nd official (or 3rd if you’re keeping count) album from this punk/hardcore band out of Canada called “Every New Day“. It appeared on the album, “Even In The Darkest Places”. This song was unlike most I’d heard in the genre around that time period. END pieced together hardcore, punk rock, and hard rock to create an explosive mix. Elements of your favorite bands from the 00’s taken to a whole other level and with the sound quality/production most bands only dreamed about.… Continued →

Celebrating the 16th Anniversary of Pennylane "From Paradise To Parking Lots"

16 years ago Indie Vision Music released a little known EP by a little known emo/indie rock band from Kauai, Hawaii known as “Pennylane”. So much has changed in the years since both professionally, musically, industry, and personally, that those years seem like such a blur. I just remember a friend passing this self released EP to me at one of my Chain Reaction shows that the band released on their own and loving every second of it. At the time IVM was releasing albums as part of it’s web presence and a year before the zine would launch (2005).… Continued →

Seeking "Cover Songs" by Christian Artists for New Playlist on Spotify

I am sending this post out there into the webiverse to gather songs for a new spotify playlist I just created. It is (tentatively) being called “The Best Christian Cover Songs” and is a play off Christians who cover popular (and not so popular) songs. Please list artist name covering a song and song title below this post in the comments section so I can take your suggestions and add them. What you see now on Spotify is just me recalling stuff off the top of my head.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Spoken - Promise

I loved Spoken from the moment their 3rd record dropped “Echoes of the Spirit Still Dwell”. The minute I heard this song, “Promise”, from the album “Moment of Imperfect Clarity”, I couldn’t shake my Spoken fandom. This band and their music came out at the perfect time post-9/11. It was uplifting, positive, and the songs were incredibly addictive in melodies. The Used, Story of the Year, Senses Fail, and Blindside all would have made perfect tour mates during this time period. The song “Promise” was really an inspirational song, one that felt like a warm pat on the back and an embrace when you feel broken and miserable.… Continued →

DENS - They

DENS’ latest track, “They,” is accompanied by a music video. The song is taken from their forthcoming album, Taming Tongues, which will be available March 6 on Facedown Records. “They” is the result of reflecting on an ongoing pattern we have seen in our relationships and in the conversations that encircle us. Namely, there is often a fundamental breakdown in communication due to a lack of precision in language, a cloud of emotion that colors our reactions, and an unwillingness to empathize with other people.… Continued →

Red Weather - Weight of the World (Official Lyric Video)

A really great new band has surfaced on the streets of our music scene. The band is called Red Weather and they just dropped a new song titled “Weight of the World” which you can take a listen to below this message. The band plays a blend of emotional rock and post-hardcore, all exploding in one brilliant piece of music. I hear sounds of Ivoryline, Saosin, My Epic, I Am Empire, Circa Survive, and The Receiving End of Sirens but I’m curious of what you all hear when listening to this new band.… Continued →
