This is a fun record, that’s really easy to listen to. It’s not really ground-breaking, just straight-forward indie rock with really warm guitar tones. While there’s not a lot of distinction between the guitar and bass, for some reason that’s not a bad thing, it just adds to the simplicity. Most readers probably already realize Lo Tom is basically an indie rock supergroup, featuring: David Bazan (Pedro the Lion, Headphones, solo), TW Walsh (Pedro the Lion, The Soft Drugs, solo), Trey Many (Velour 100, His Name is Alive, Liquorice, TW Walsh), and Jason Martin (Starflyer 59, Bon Voyage, Dance House Children, White Lighter).… Continued →

Update: The band has changed their official website and have posted this same image. Anberlin has been dropping little hints the past few months that are leaving fans guessing. Today they swapped out their profile image on facebook with a new pic that appears to be a photo taped back together. Could this be symbolism? Could this another hint at a reunion? For King & Country have gotten quite creative, with an artistic attempt at creating an engaging music video. It feels as though each one of their new music videos comes across as a sort of mini-movie. It’s quite an impressive undertaking and shows a group with talent that many others lack in their presentations. Weathered is a band you absolutely NEED to check out, like right now! So much positive, uplifting, and altogether AMAZING stuff coming out of Facedown Records and this band is one of them. A new artist to many of you avid music listeners, Collington, has just released a brand new ep titled “In Between”. The 5 song ep featuring heart on the sleeve, thought provoking, indie rock inspired tunes meant to get your head spinning with those kind of sing-a-long songs. This is extremely well done and well played rock n’ roll that would please fans of Band of Horses, Switchfoot, Lifehouse, The Classic Crime, Manchester Orchestra, and Dashboard Confessional. As you might have heard California has been struck by a series of destructive fires that have torn through towns with such force that people are left feeling broken. It’s terrible and unfortunately someone we have talked quite a bit about here on IVM, has lost his home and belongings as a result of these fires. Jeff Schneeweis, his wife, and 3 daughters made it out safely but their home, belongings including Jeff’s recording equipment and instruments, did not. Jeff was a founding member of the band Number One Gun, went on to produce a bunch of great band albums over the years and more recently began recording “solo” under the project name “Lael”.… Continued →
