Red Weather Are Back With New Music

Red Weather are a really great indie/emo/pop-punk band out of the state of Virginia that released some music in 2020 and are coming back strong this year. The band dropped their song “Save My Breath” last month and have another single, “Counting Seconds” due to drop on 10/15. The band will release their new full length on 11/12 titled “Wish You Well”. Check out one of their new songs below.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Luther-N - The Table

Luther-N was an industrial side project from a band I saw with Disciple many years ago called Junker Jorg. This song got stuck in my head when it came out & is a mix of rapcore & industrial which works in this song IMHO. Hope you like it as well. Their only release to my knowledge was on Youngside records which is the label that released music by my fave goth band The Awakening.

Song of the Day: This City Awaits - Hold Still

This City Awaits is comprised of Phillip Ivey & Darah Hubbard. They are a rock band with metal influences & have released a few albums. The band even did a livestream back In February. I love their song White Ambulance, but chose Hold Still as the song lyrics relate to what I am currently going through- “Will I pass this test with dignity?” I also added the livestream.

Goatscorge drops new single!

Bestial black metal/war metal band Goatscorge has just dropped a new single in advance of their forthcoming EP. The raw sound should appeal to fans of Lucifer Impaled, Elgibbor, and Shekinah. The controversial title will raise some eyebrows for sure, but it’s a direct reference to Isaiah 45:7– “I form the light, and create darkness I make peace, and create evil I the Lord do all these things.” Thus the title is not a reference to moral evil, but rather God’s pronunciation of judgement in His just wrath.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Havalina Rail Co. - I Change My Clothes

Havalina Rail Co. was a delightfully quirky, eccentric, genre-fusing and genre-bending experimental band from California. Across their 10-year career (give or take), the band dabbled in folk, ska, jazz, ragtime, blues, Americana, surf, and multiple internationally-themed genres. No two albums in their canon treads the same ground, and yet each successive opus is clearly recognizable as Havalina. The band stopped recording as HRC somewhere in the early 00s, but members have turned up elsewhere. Most notably are Matt Wignall who is a renowned photographer and is perhaps now best known as the producer for several Cold War Kids albums.… Continued →

REVIEW : Relent - Heavy

Relent has been around and making music longer than most realize; most likely myself included. A 2 song ep in 2016, the Heart Attack ep (2019), the re-release of the Heart Attack ep (2020), with 2 new tracks, and now a full length, aptly titled, “Heavy”. And yes. Yes, it is. From the first listen to these guys a number of yrs ago, I was hooked. I’m a sucker for downtuned guitars with well constructed grooves, thunderous drums, and a mix of rapped/sung/screamed vocals. So this band has really checked all the boxes for me since day 1.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Cry Mercy - Time To Go

Cry Mercy was a groove metal band hailing from Australia signed to Steve Rowe’s record label. I remember hearing them on a compilation put out by Rowe Productions & loved this song. The album didn’t fare well, but might have done a lot better if it came out back in the early 90s instead of 1996 like it did.  Also check out D.A.M.

Song of the Day: The Lonely Now - Original Intentions

Wonderfully noisy, and delightfully obscure, The Lonely Now only released 3 full-length recordings in their short career: —Captive, 1986, Narrowpath Records (cassette only) —Original Intention, 1987, Narrowpath Records (cassette, LP) —Honest Tear, 1990, Narrowpath/Refuge (cassette only) While all of their releases are somewhat difficult to obtain, ironically their final album–the only one with national distribution through Refuge–is the most difficult. It was released through the same agreement as debuts by The Crucified, Breakfast with Amy, and The Swoon. In fact, founding member Greg Sostrom (AKA Greg Strange) was the owner of Narrowpath Records.… Continued →

Further Seems Forever x Strongarm Collab?

This is just a rumor but word on the street is that a possible Strongarm reunion (either in song or set) is taking place at the end of Further Seems Forever’s performance at Furnace Fest this weekend. Don’t quote me but a special ending is planned so stick around, #thesecretsoftheheartmademanifest. Who would love to hear a little Strongarm for old time’s sake? They should totally live stream this as well as the entire fest for us losers stuck at home wishing they were at Furnace Fest.… Continued →

Outgrown Airs on HGTV Featuring Clint & Luke of Boise Boys

The men of “Boise Boys” are back on HGTV with a brand new show called “Outgrown“. Outgrown is a show essentially about families who have outgrown their current living arrangements and have to expand and/or remodel to make it bigger to suit the families’ growing dynamic. I watched the first episode yesterday and it was really good. Like a mix of Extreme Makeover Home Edition, Hometown, and The Gaines family shows. I think they have a bright future ahead of them. Those early IVM readers will remember Luke Caldwell from his early band – Esterlyn, which I was personally a big fan of.… Continued →

SoCal Harvest 2021 on October 3rd at Angel Stadium of Anaheim

The annual Harvest (Crusade) event is back and is a one day event taking place October 3rd at the Angel Stadium of Anaheim here in sunny Southern California. The event is FREE like always (additional parking fee by the stadium) and will feature music by For King & Country and Phil Wickham plus a message by Greg Laurie. I’ve gone to many of these over the years dating back to the 90’s and they are always a special time spent in worship, fellowship, and sharing with those that maybe have fell out of love with God and/or the Church as a whole.… Continued →

Narcissus Bring Back The Metal

Narcissus have recently reunited and show how it’ll be done from here on out. The chaotic and noise filled metal band have played a couple shows leading up to their big festival date at Furnace Fest this weekend (please keep the show on!). The band is teasing new music on the horizon as well as possibly re-releases of their early Takehold Records stuff. Who is excited for this? Don’t know who this band is, well take a peek below.… Continued →

Skillet - Surviving The Game (Brand New Song and Music Video)

Skillet, have just released their brand new song titled “Surviving The Game” and there is a music video to accompany the track (check it out below). This song continues in that same current Skillet sound tradition and their sound is complimented by high end production as well as musicianship. I really think Jen’s background vocals give this track an extra layer of oomf that further compliments their already classic, rock sound. If you dig the more recent Skillet music, you’re going to absolutely love this.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Kronicles - I Need You

Kronicles was a nu-metal/modern rock band that changed their style to dubstep rock. I dig the change & hope you like this one also. As far as I can see, no one knows me like you do. And no one knows where the wind blows, Where it comes and where it goes, but I just need you here. I need you. Anxious, I confess Break it down and I’m 46ed And when it all comes down I need you Mad stressed, I digress Feelin down and I need my fix And when it all comes down I need you.… Continued →
