It’s weird. I thought that all the reggae rock bands that were playing today had started their careers sometime before 1999. Red Hot Chili Peppers, 311, and Sublime all played a style similar to More Yom over five (nearly ten) years ago, and there have been no newcomers to the fad since then.… Continued →

INTERVIEW : Crimson Refuge
Crimson Refuge Bio as seen on Myspace:
Crimson Refuge is a 5-Piece Indie/Rock band based out of Eastern North Carolina. Their sound is a unique blend of southern/indie rock containing elements of hardcore. Their lyrics are based on everyday situations that life has thrown at the guys both the good and the bad. The force that drives them is their faith in Jesus Christ and their desire to make Him known. Crimson Refuge has been making their way into the music scene since fall of 2007.… Continued →

REVIEW : Olivia the Band "Where We Come From It Never Snows"
Artist: Olivia the Band
Album: Where Come From It Never Snows
Label: Up At Nite/Syntax Records
Crap, am I impressed or what? I know that’s a real zinger of a line to throw out in the first sentence but wow, oh wow, is this good! Every song is a radio single and eager for your listen. Every beat is addictive and every strum of the guitar is like heaven. This album transcends all genres and rises above the melodic punk rock background they rise from. This album beats back all preconceived notions you may have and tosses them out the window.… Continued →

REVIEW : Our City Sleeps- Wake Up!
Band: Our City Sleeps
Album: “Wake Up!”
Label: Unsigned
Released: Fall/Winter 2007
Reviewed by: Cory
Myspace
Our City Sleeps combines pop with indie rock to make a brand of catchy rock ’n’ roll all their own. Their sound is somewhere in between the artsy styling of Cool Hand Luke and the pop/rock hooks of Forever Changed. The recording is pretty decent on this album, but I feel like it fails to capture the energy these guys have when they play live. And to be fair capturing that energy is a hard thing to accomplish.… Continued →

Ladies & Gentlemen. What you are about to read is my first ever phone interview, and it happened to be with Fono’s leader, Del Currie, a couple months ago. So come and discover what Fono and their latest release, Too Broken To Brake, is all about.… Continued →

INTERVIEW : TrustFall
I recently conducted another interview with the guys of TrustFall. Most of you probably don’t know them, but they have great hearts for God. They have no studio-recorded songs, but that does not matter. They play music for the worship aspect, and because they know it counts.
– Please tell me who you are, and what you do in TrustFall, and whether or not TrustFall is your first band ever, and how long you’ve been playing in TrustFall.
Nicky Z- drums – not my first band – creator of Trustfall
Bobby- vocals, keyboard, acoustic – this is my first band – 5 months
Josh- back up vocals, guitar – this is not my first band – 5 months
-I saw on your myspace that TrustFall broke up, then reformed with three new members.
