Brian McSweeney (Ex-Seven Day Jesus) Releases "As The Bluebird"
Brian McSweeney, former lead vocalist and songwriter for the alternative band Seven Day Jesus, has released a new “solo” record titled “As The Bluebird” which you can find over on NoiseTrade below. This collection of songs borders on the experimental and yet entices you into a somber relaxation. A definite “kick-back and watch the winter weather roll in type of record”. Definitely an enjoyable listen. Imagine Brian Wilson collaborating with Starflyer 59, Gotye and Radiohead then you might have an idea for the sounds. [Facebook]

The Agony Scene Working on a New EP
Do you remember The Agony Scene? Signed originally with Solid State Records, many people thought of them as a Christian metal band. Which originally they were. They dropped that label and then signed to Century Media and later on Roadrunner. Anyways, the band broke up in 2008, but reunited in 2013. Since 2013, the band played a few shows in 2014 with Living Sacrifice, and Project 86. The band recently has put out a statement stating they are working on a new EP, their first release since Get Damned (what a title) in 2007.… Continued →
REVIEW : Black Pages - Where It Gets You EP
Last summer, Bad Christian released a compilation album focused on electronic artists. Like most compilations, it proved to be a mixed bag – however, it was specifically aimed at getting exposure to a number of lesser-known artists.
Summer Sleep happened to be Black Pages’ submission to the compilation and is also the first track off his 2015 EP Where It Gets You. Black Pages, the solo project of James McCurley of Vertica, is an ambitious singer-songwriter experience that is fairly unique – it’s neither folky nor relies too much on backing tracks.… Continued →

Arms for Elephants-The Laws That Guide My Feet
If you downloaded our most recent comp, “Hearts Bleed Passion, Vol. 6″, you may have heard this song. Definitely one of my favorites on it. Here’s a brief explanation of what it’s about from the band’s vocalist, Matt Evans:
” “The Laws That Guide My Feet” is kind of an anthem for people who feel lost and out of place. However, lyrically, it’s also a lot more than that. It transitions between various perspectives to illustrate a bigger picture. For example, most of the screaming vocals are from the perspective of satan…and most of the clean vocals are from the perspective of someone who is hearing both satan’s and God’s voice and doesn’t feel like they fit into either narrative.… Continued →
REVIEW : Colours - Ivory
Colours' debut album stylistically diverges from their Skin and Bones EP and ultimately leaves room for improvement.

REVIEW : Lacey Sturm - Life Screams
2012 saw the departure of Lacey Sturm from Flyleaf. She announced to her fans that it was her desire to take some time off and focus on her family, an admirable and noble decision for sure. In the hearts of her fans was a feeling of support for her decision, yet at the same time, those feelings were mixed with a hopeful wondering of whether or not we’d hear from Lacey again in the music arena. 2 years passed with hardly a peep as Lacey enjoyed some well deserved time off with her family.… Continued →

Thrice - Red Sky
On this slow Sunday I figured I’d do a little video flashback from the band Thrice. This song “Red Sky” appeared on the band’s 2005 full length effort, “Vehissu“. Following up the chart topping, fan favorite “The Artist in the Ambulance” seemed like a troublesome task but take a skilled band like Thrice and the end result further proved that the band’s prior success was definitely no “fluke”. This was and still is a band that is here to stay.… Continued →

Tiger Drive (Ex OceanSpeak) Teases New Music
Tiger Drive, a Nashville progressive indie band featuring members of OceanSpeak, recently posted a video on Facebook from one of the group’s rehearsals. While the sound is definitely a departure from the groovy, post-hardcore elements that OceanSpeak showcased at times, there’s definitely plenty for old and new fans to enjoy.
