Brinson - Grudges

Indie hip-hop artist Brinson has just dropped his new track “Grudges” of which you can listen to below. Please check this artist out and give his song a listen. “Grudges” is a song about Brinson’s personal journey to overcome pain and hurt. Hurt from betrayal of best friends, and pain from past hurts that came from the church. Brinson chants in the chorus how he has to let go of all of his grudges. His EP Black Canvas was inspired by this pain and “Grudges” paints the perfect picture of a man trying to move forward.… Continued →

REVIEW : Flatfoot 56 - Odd Boat

The tallest man in punk rock music, Tobin Bawinkel and his band of merry Celtic brethren have done it again. Towering at 6’10“, the gentle giant of punk rock comes out swinging with the first track, “Ty Cobb”. His signature gravelly, husky voice continues to stand tall amidst his Celtic punk rock counterparts. The song starts with a clip of a baseball game announcer that mixes smoothly with the guitar and then, alas, the bagpipes jump in. The second track keeps up the tone and doesn’t disappoint.… Continued →

Heliocentric releases "Moonshine"

A great independent Ambient metalcore act known as Heliocentric has released their debut song, titled “Moonshine”. The song is musically amazing and brings me to think of bands like What We Do in Secret and Wage War. The uncleans are very hardcore style, while the cleans seem like a power metal vocalist. The band is a one man project run by Jared Smith. This song is great, check it out below and go follow Heliocentric, or go buy it at Bandcamp! Continued →

Islander - Better Day

Islander has some cool songs. They are also known for having an interesting stage presence, what with JR Bareis and his costumes. Well for Islander’s new video for their song “Better Day”, it seems to be Vocalist Mikey Carvajal this time, with his cheetah print sleeves. But not to make that the point of this, the song is very uplifting and pleasant. It reminds me personally of some P.O.D.’s more uplifting songs. Check out this great band and their album Power Under Control that came out last year via Victory Records.… Continued →

REVIEW : Hearts Like Lions - If I Never Speak Again

Hearts Like Lions largely widened their audience reach when they signed with Tooth and Nail Records in 2015. They released an EP titled These Hands and as impressive and fulfilling as an EP can be, These Hands sufficiently succeeded in both. The sound was a mix of The Almost and My Epic, a combination that is every bit intriguing as it is effective. So here we are with their first full length album. Did they keep up with the momentum and release an album worth following a great EP?… Continued →

Family Christian To Close All Stores, Liquidate Assets

Well known Christian Store Chain “Family Christian” has announced plans to close all 240 stores, lay off over 3000 employees, and liquidate their assets. This is a huge disappointment for many I am sure and it’s a sad state of the current times we are in. I remember during the 90’s that there were several “Christian” stores like this one and others that sprung up around So Cal and I frequented many of them. With the explosion of the internet shopping market, it put a huge dent in overpriced goods at Christian stores across the country.… Continued →
