Song of the Day: Six Feet Deep - Narrow
This band was awesome imho. The early days of Christian hxc bands had met their match with this phenomenal cd The Road Less Travelled. Songs like Congruent, Purify, Slip, & Steadfast are just pummeling. It was like a breach of hxc w/ metalcore. Myk Porter & Matt Traxler went to to form an awesome emo band called Brandston (whom I got to see live several years ago) after but the band got its start in 91 in Ohio. I have always thought this is one of the best metal instrumentals of all time.… Continued →

Golf Slang - In Even Strokes (Luxury)
Golf Slang is a new side project of Jamey Bozeman of the band Luxury. Gold Slang takes on some of that 80’s new wave influence, incorporates modern sounds and conveniences and makes a song that just about anyone can appreciate. It’s really low key, chill, and something to knock off the shoes, kick back, and relax in a nice, oversized chair. If you like what you hear below, make sure to pre-order the new 5 song EP “How I Lost My Voice” right here via their label home – Velvet Blue Music, and on Cassette or CD.… Continued →
Craig's Brother Ask the Question, Are You Unhappy?
Craig’s Brother return yet again with a song sure to bring out all those old fans and mix it up with the new school crew who found them more recently. The new song is titled “Are You Unhappy?” and it’s anything but. I would argue that this just might be some of the band’s finest work and my favorite of the 4 new songs released (so far). The band says news on the new full length is coming soon via People of Punk Rock Records, so get that wallet ready or your bitcoin (if any is left).… Continued →
GFM - Framing My Perception (Official Music Video)
The ladies in GFM just dropped their music video for the electrifying new song, “Framing My Perception” of the EP of the same name which just dropped yesterday. I’ve listened to the whole EP and I am beyond impressed with it. They are a young group of musicians but listening the EP you certainly can’t tell. They’ve got the experience and music chops to back up the final product which is an awe inspiring collection of songs sure to impress everyone including those most hardened critics who just can’t seem to have any fun.… Continued →
Song of the Day: The American Culture Experiments - Talk
The American Culture Experiments were a punk band from Texas. Their first LP I bought off Accidental Sirens records which is the label from Scaterd Few’s/Men As Trees Walking Allen Aguirre whom I had the pleasure to interview back in my college days. Humans Being was also featured as a single on Christian indie rock shows back in the early 2000s. Lloyd wrote a SOTD on another song from theirs here: https://www.indievisionmusic.com/news/song-of-the-day-the-american-culture-experiments-freedom-in-part/ This one has Laraine on vocals & bass.

Song of the Day: Sincerely Paul - Nineteen Years
One of my all-time favorite record labels of the indie Christian scene was Blonde Vinyl. Run by Michael Knott (LSU/Lifesavers, and about a dozen others), it was one of the first truly indie, truly alternative record labels focusing on Christian artists. Knott never got rich off of the sales. (A few years later, Brandon Ebel would show us how to make a Christian indie label financially profitable.) Furthermore, not all of the releases on Blonde Vinyl were even that great–I won’t name any names–but all of them were charming in some way.… Continued →

Song of the Day: Islander - Bad Guy
This is a band whom I have seen live twice now & they put on an impressive show. And of course the P.O.D./Bad Brains influence isn’t a bad thing either! This is just the type of music I am glad to have permeated the mainstream airwaves. Coconut Dracula put them on the map & as of today, April 1st, they have released It’s Not Easy Being Human.

Miles Minnick & Bizzle - GHOST
A fairly new California rapper by the name of Miles Minnick, just dropped his new song with Bizzle called “GHOST”. It’s a hot one and I think a lot of fans of the genre will be all over this. Watch the music video below and you can stream the new song on all digital networks right now.… Continued →
The Altar Billies - Gone? (New Song + Album Out Now)
One of the best if not, THE best, Rockabilly bands – The Altar Billies, featuring legendary front man, guitarist, and all around “seasoned” songwriter, Mike Stand, is back and with a new album titled “All In”. This is a new song off that album, and it is titled “Gone?”. The song has lyrics that ring especially true and delivered in a poetic fashion with a subtle and somber sound featuring twangy guitar, deep upright bass, and killer drum section. This is a unique sound for the time period we are living in and lyrics everyone needs right now.… Continued →
Watashi Wa - Trust Me (Official Music Video)
Watashi Wa just released their fantastic “come back” album titled “People Like People”, last Friday and are already off to a strong start with a new music video and Tour to follow. Check out the really great music video for the song “Trust Me”, below. What are your thoughts on this eclectic, yet poppy and definitely indie sounding, surprisingly strong new offering from Watashi Wa? Its a mix of styles but definitely current and featuring a cast of characters as guest vocalists that would make even the common underground music fan’s head explode!… Continued →

Song of the Day: Cloud2Ground vs Shiny Toy Guns - Face2Face vs Somewhere to Hide
There are so many memories of these 2 bands. C2G first started up back in 99 w/ Jeremy Dawson (who is an awesome musician). He added Chad Petree who was in a boy band called PC Quest which started in 91. C2G released 2 of my fave EDM albums of all time. Then they started releasing other projects under Slyder, RRDS & Shiny Toy Guns. STG took over & they ended up releasing their mainstream debut in 06 but was floating around as an indie release in 05.… Continued →

Song of the Day: The Combat Junkies - The Revolution

Spotify Playlists to Get You Going
I’d like to share a couple NEW Spotify Playlists I curated just for our readers and can be found below. They feature a variety of styles and are even separated by decade. There is plenty of 90’s and 00’s represented. I’ll work on some post-2010 stuff next as well as a “Heavy Music” one for everything year 2000 and above (there is plenty to choose from). The “More 00’s Rock Anthems” is a work in progress even through there is more than 300 songs. I have a couple more I forgot about and will be adding today/this weekend.… Continued →
Song of the Day: Stryper - Calling on You
For some of you, this SOTD will stretch the limits of what “Indie Vision Music” should cover. Glam metal was at the height of the commercialization of rock and roll in the late 80s, thus rendering Stryper’s inclusion here as suspect. But here are a few reasons why they absolutely deserve to be here:
1. They were, and possibly are still, the most important and/or influential Christian rock/metal band of all time. Yes, it’s true. With number one singles, album sales that rivaled their secular peers, and heavy rotation on MTV (when it still stood for “Music Television”), their impact is still felt far and wide.… Continued →

REVIEW : LEVVY - Bury EP
Sometimes it feels like the wave of faith-based post-hardcore bands the likes of Least of These, sosaveme, Matter, Attalus, and so on has come and gone. It’s a shame – there are plenty of bands that have opted to go to the saturated metalcore market, and it’s obvious that indie is still a thriving genre – but high-octane, technical bands with captivating lyrics have become a rare breed. DENS feels like a beacon of hope here, but they’re certainly not alone in trying to bring new life to this space.… Continued →

Song of the Day: MyChildren MyBride - god of Nothing
MyChildren MyBride is a metalcore band from Alabama. This SOTD was probably my fave song in 2013. It has always served as a reminder that the devil does not rule my life no matter how many times I fall as a Christian. YHWH is always waiting for me with open arms.

Song of the Day: Acceptance - Fire & Rain
Acceptance is a pop punk band from Washington state. I remember their song Different on mainstream radio back when emo ruled the airwaves in the early to mid 2000s. They had originally broke up in 2006, but reunited in 2017 & released albums on the label that I have always wanted to work for: Tooth & Nail. They have toured with Anberlin, Finch, Further Seems Forever & The Julian Theory all of whom I have seen live. The band has had several catchy songs including Take Cover, Not Afraid & this SOTD.… Continued →

New Collington Track, "Fighting For Me"
Collington began writing and performing while attending college. What began as a batch of self-produced demos has grown into Collington working with producers such as Eric Owyoung (Hillsong United/ John Foreman) and Bill Scheniman (Bruce Springsteen/ Mick Jagger). Major press took notice of the 2020 release “Against The Wall” and Collington was awarded “Next Big Thing” by NewReleaseToday.
Fast forward to the present, Collington has enlisted producer and former Sanctus Real member Jake Rye for his next release. Working in Rye’s Adrian, MI studio, the collaboration has yielded a song collection that portrays a new found intimacy for Collington’s music.… Continued →
Song of the Day: The O.C. Supertones - Adonai
No, The Supertones weren’t the first Christian ska band. The Israelites’ first album pre-dated them by a year. But in the UK, Rev Counta and the Speedoze* (another incarnation of Ishmael United) had released a full-length as early as 1980! And perhaps some Jamaican bands that didn’t fit into the CCM/CBA mold had been active earlier than that, it’s hard to say. However, the Supertones were the first Christian ska band to release an album on a nationally-distributed label, releasing The Adventures of the O.C. Supertones just a few months before Five Iron Frenzy dropped Upbeats and Beatdowns.… Continued →
