The Showdown streams live acoustic video

The southern metal band, The Showdown has not announced that they are back together, but they did do live stream where they played an acoustic song. The band started years ago in 1999 as 2450, but didn’t become The Showdown until 2003. They released four albums, two through Mono vs. Stereo and two through Solid State Records. The band may be hinting at a reunion, but expect an original lineup. Demon Hunter - Half As Dead

Demon Hunter, metalcore act, has released yet another single from their upcoming album, Outlive, called “Half As Dead”. The band started in 2000 as a project of Ryan and Don Clark’s (ex-Training for Utopia). Over the years, the lineup has solidified as Ryan (Vocals), Jon Dunn (Bass), Patrick Judge (Guitar), Jeremiah Scott (Guitar), and Timothy “Yogi” Watts (Drums). The album is due out on March 31. The band started many years ago, in 1997, but broke up the year after. The band reunited in 1999 and has been active ever since. Death Therapy tease release date

The newly signed Death Therapy has teased the release date for the debut album. Death Therapy started in 2015 as the vision of former Becoming the Archetype vocalist/bassist Jason Wisdom. Wisdom left BTA in 2011 and joined a project with former Aletheian members called Solamors. Since 2013, when Solamors album was released, Wisdom has not done much in the way of music. He re-emerged musically with this project, which is himself and a drummer, named Josh Seagraves. Death Therapy Signs to Solid State Records

The Industrial/Groove metal band that is Death Therapy has just signed to Solid State Records and has released a new, or rather a re-done track, titled “The Lie”. Death Therapy is the solo project of Jason Wisdom of Becoming the Archetype and Solamors fame. Wisdom left BTA in 2011 and went on to do Solamors in 2013 with ex-BTA/Aletheian Guitarist Alex Kenis and ex-Aletheian Drummer Travis Turner. Turner now hosts a podcast, on which Wisdom has been a guest on twice. Silent Planet Announce Everything Was Sound Tour

The boys in Silent Planet have had a busy year. And they will probably have an even busier year in 2017. The band has just announced tour dates and bands playing alongside them on their Everything Was Sound Tour for 2017. The band formed in 2009 with a completely different lineup. REVIEW : Wolves At The Gate - Types & Shadows

Solid State Records has enjoyed quite the stellar year with releases from Silent Planet, Forevermore, Norma Jean, and Fit For A King. Now Wolves At The Gate are closing out the year with Types & Shadows, and it’s a fitting record to finish such a monumental year for the the label. They’re back with their third record on Solid State, and they mean business. Types & Shadows summed up in a word would be “dense”. Its thirteen tracks have a runtime over fifty-four minutes, the barrage of high-gain rock’n’roll rarely lets up, and Stephen Cobucci’s weighty lyrics occupy the majority of the songs.… Continued →
