American Arson - Waymaker

REVIEW : American Arson - Waymaker EP

Waymaker is yet another strong release from American Arson, showcasing a blend of punk, pop-punk, alternative, and straight up rock. It's a passionate EP ripe with self-referential treasure from the rest of the band's discography and serves as a great starting point for new listeners to get acquainted with exactly what these two guys from Detroit can do.

Royalty - The Dawn Retreat

Throwback Review 3: Royalty - The Dawn Retreat

Welcome to our third edition of throwback reviews. I know it has been a couple weeks since the last one, so I hope you’re ready for a good one. Today’s feature is The Dawn Retreat, who have recently reunited with a new single. While the new single shows a progression in sound and lyrical maturity, I invite you to follow me back to 2011 to the release of their first album. Royalty is 11 tracks (well, 12 if you have the CD with the acoustic bonus track) of late-teen, mid-to-late 2000s angst.… Continued →

Introducing: Army of Bones

This is one of the most talented new indie acts to grace our scene in recent memory. The band is called Army of Bones and the band features former Delirious vocalist/guitarist Martin Smith. The band just released their self titled debut on March 3rd and I think these guys definitely deserve a minute of your time. You Spotify listeners can check out the album below. Continued →

Introducing: LeAnder

I’d like to take a moment and introduce all our readers to a new rock act by the name of LeAnder that I think are pretty great. The band just released their brand new song titled “Feel It In My Bones” that you can listen to below. Imagine a sound close to 30 Seconds to Mars, Lifehouse, Needtobreathe, Switchfoot, and The Fray then you’ll get an idea for what LeAnder sounds like. Check them out! Continued →

Fireflight Re-Imag-Innova Now Available

A new Fireflight release just hit the digital marketplace. It’s titled “Re-Imag-Innova” and features 5 tracks from “Innova” reimagined in an acoustic type setting. I really enjoyed the “Innova” album and this Ep makes it clear the talent this group holds. I’ve been a fan since the beginning and I really hope (and pray) that they continue making new music for years to come. Continued →

New Names Without Numbers Teaser

Names Without Numbers who recently reunited and have been playing shows has teased us all with a new sample clip of a song they are working on. This band has remained one of my favorites since I first put them on “I’m Your Biggest Fan Vol. 2” (Tooth & Nail) all the way back in 2002. This band is going to blow up big in 2017! Download their 2003 full length below via our Bandcamp page. Don’t forget to pick up some NWN merch here.… Continued →

Spoken Begins Tracking New Album

Spoken are busy at it once again and have begun tracking their new album. This will be the follow up to “Breathe Again” which released in 2015. Unfortunately recent guitarist/songwriter Scoop Roberts will be stepping away from the band after they record this new album. You can watch a video below detailing why. I think they need to bring back Jef Cunningham and go out on tour playing hits from their earlier 4 albums from 2000-2007. That’d be sweet!… Continued →
