Brave Future Are One Of The Top Rock Bands of 2018 That You Haven't Heard

There I said it and it’s true, all of it. This relatively “new” rock band by the name of Brave Future as reemerged from the shadows to come out swinging in a big way this year. The band consists of former Sent by Ravens members and they play a sound in that same vein but in an even grander scope. Clearly said, this is rock n’ roll for the new millennium and the talent bleeds through with each beat, each chord played, and each note sung.… Continued →

Collington Releases New "In Between" Ep

A new artist to many of you avid music listeners, Collington, has just released a brand new ep titled “In Between”. The 5 song ep featuring heart on the sleeve, thought provoking, indie rock inspired tunes meant to get your head spinning with those kind of sing-a-long songs. This is extremely well done and well played rock n’ roll that would please fans of Band of Horses, Switchfoot, Lifehouse, The Classic Crime, Manchester Orchestra, and Dashboard Confessional. It’s a diverse set of music and comes with my highest recommendation.… Continued →

For King & Country - God Only Knows (Official Music Video)

For King & Country have just dropped another music video off their upcoming new full length album “Burn The Ships”. The emotionally charged new track “God Only Knows” connects with the listener in more ways than one. It is a beautiful song with a much deeper message. It balances words of hope and peace in the storm of doubt and pain with an underlying message of mental health awareness. Maybe I’m wrong but I haven’t seen this issue done with this caliber of quality in quite some time.… Continued →

Anberlin Tease Return?

If Anberlin’s recent post on Instagram is any indication of an imminent “reunion”, count me as excited. I love this band and any mention of new music from them is certainly reason enough to justify a GOOD DAY. I didn’t really understand their breakup the first time (a hiatus would have been sufficient). Check out the post below and discuss among yourselves. Anyone game for more Anberlin music?… Continued →

Names Without Numbers - The Apathy Anthem

In case you missed it last month, I had Drew from Rival Consultants create a lyric video for the new Names Without Numbers song “The Apathy Anthem”. It came out pretty cool I think and if you give it a chance, I am sure you’ll enjoy it too. Names Without Numbers are an alt-emo-rock band from Nebraska who recently reunited after an almost decade long absence. Their music would please fans of Jimmy Eat World, Anberlin, The Classic Crime, Taking Back Sunday, House Of Heroes, Acceptance, and Thrice.… Continued →

Mae is Back and With a Brand New Song

After the past decade of just a few new songs here and there or a few re-releases (on vinyl) of their past catalog, the band MAE as a collective unit is BACK! Check out “5 Light Years” below via spotify. The song is available on all digital networks courtesy of Tooth & Nail Records. This reminds me of “Singularity” meets The Postal Service meets Sparta and Modest Mouse served in a bowl of Jimmy Eat World. It is electrifying, experimental, post-whatever everyone else is doing, and simply aggressive.… Continued →

Five Post-Hardcore Albums You Probably Missed

5 Modern Post-Hardcore Albums You Probably Missed

Post-hardcore is a genre of stigmas – on one hand, the easycore bands tend to dominate modern perception. On the other hand, people might form expectations around Fugazi. Arguably, the staple of modern post-hardcore borrows from hardcore but throws in a stronger melodic focus. It’s a careful balance of mosh-inducing energy and admirable riffage. Here are just five albums you probably missed over the years. 1. Teraphim (Matter) Matter released “Teraphim” in 2014 before quickly breaking up. Sitting at seven tracks (30 minutes of material), it’s closer to an EP than a full-length; nonetheless, it’s conceptually cohesive and manages to cover a lot of ground – specifically, the book of Ezekiel.… Continued →
