Huntingtons Return From Long Slumber With Brand New Punk Rock Album

Huntingtons are back after a long hiatus to deliver us all an album that just might deserve a top spot on every punk rock reviewers “Best of” lists. Could this be possible? Will the Ramones loving homeboys bring us an abundance of joy and laughter in the form of pure PUNK ROCK that us fans will discuss for years to come? One can only guess but the anticipation is high and I hope it’s even better than their last studio full length in 2003 (Self Titled).… Continued →

Song of the Day: What of the Night - Soaked Right Through

I don’t suspect many of our readers will be familiar with What of the Night, which is a shame. This Irish & English punk band released only one album in 1979 (yes, you read that right!) making them the earliest Christian punk band (if we don’t include Death, which is a discussion for another time). The LP features post-punk, mod, and garage rock sounds and would be at home next to the likes of The Undertones, The Jam, Buzzcocks and so many others. It’s super rare and hard to come by, but I managed to track down a copy for myself a couple of years ago.… Continued →

Thrice Announce 15th Anniversary Tour for Landmark Album, Vheissu

Thrice have just announced plans for a 15th anniversary tour in honor of their landmark album, “Vheissu”. Vheissu originally released in 2005 via Island Records that was met with a heavy dose of critical acclaim and a bit of negativity from the rabid early years fan base. For me it was a beautiful, musically rich and engaging, endearing album that has stood the test of time. I still remember hearing the song or two on a Burnout game and being so psyched for the band. Regardless of what you think of their 3 prior full lengths up until 2005, this album really set the pace for what was to come.… Continued →

REVIEW : 2Minute Minor - Snake That Ate It's Own Tail

I usually like to have some Kenny or Dolly playing on the turntable in the background as I start writing a review. It gives me the inspiration I need. NOT, but now that I have your attention I must point out that the opening track to this album comes blazing off the starting line at full speed. It’s a skull crushing track and the epic start of an album that brings back that late 80s hardcore punk vibe, and although I didn’t experience that era live, the videos and stories people tell bring it to life.… Continued →

The Blamed return with their 7th full length effort titled “The Church is Hurting People”. Campaign contributors have all received an early release of this 12 song effort. Check out the new song “Overwhelming Love”, below. The album is a perfect combination of that unmistakable heavy Blamed sound mixed with punk rock elements, industrial touches, and just an all around energetic, passionate experience sure to bring a smile to any fan of The Blamed. Craig's Brother - Forever (New Song)

Craig’s Brother return with their 6th and final song from the Devils In The Details sessions. This song is titled “Forever (The Proposal)” and shows the band in a more subdued moment yet drawing heavy on that emotional connection their music conveys and tugging at the heart strings. Check out the song below this message. This beautiful recorded effort was originally used as the song for Ted’s (Bond) proposal to his bride. Think along the lines of “Set Free”, “10,000 Miles”, and “Head In A Cloud”.… Continued →

REVIEW : United Harvest Workers Union - United Harvest Workers Union

Although this was released around Easter of 2019, I only recently stumbled across this gem while perusing the Zap Records page on bandcamp. As it turns out, its history is even deeper than, having been recorded and self-released in 2010. Hailing from Pittsburgh, the band has roots in the punk scene in that area, but UHWU is a completely different animal. The union was formed to create “authentic church music . . . devoid of hype.” So I guess you could call this a worship band, but it’s not what you think.… Continued →

Song of The Day: Craig's Brother - Who Am I?

We all find that special album, the initial attraction which binds the listener to a band from the get go. For me, that first album “Homecoming” by Craig’s Brother was just that, an alluring piece of work that had me fascinated from day one. Tooth & Nail released this album in 1998, nearly 21 years ago. It wasn’t exactly a “huge” hit but sure did knock us all in the chest with powerful guitar heavy punk rock and harmonies you can’t get out of your head.… Continued →

DIY Together

Zach Bridier of Captive Portal, and October Bird of Death (not to mention DBD Tapes) has put together a pretty impressive punk rock collaboration album titled “DIY Together”. It features singers from bands around the globe lending their voice for each track on the release. This is heavy yet melodic, blunt, in your face, and enlightening raw punk. A lot of these songs are great, my favorite being Track #7 which you can take a listen to below. Make sure to support this DIY Together release by downloading right here via bandcamp.… Continued →

Light The Way - HOPE (Full Song)

Super pumped to unveil the brand new single from Sacramento, CA. based pop-punk band – Light The Way. This song is titled “HOPE” It is just that, a hopeful reminder of God’s enduring love for us no matter how much we fail or feel defeated, that God will be there with open arms to love us completely. This song really came at the perfect time as I was experiencing some unexpected set backs in my wife’s journey from her 2014 stroke and brain surgery. It’s crazy how little things like an independent pop-punk band can bring even an old Dad like myself much joy and peace.… Continued →
