Thumper Punk Records Comes to An End 2008-2018

By in News | 13 Comments

David has announced an end to the much loved and adored Christian punk rock label, Thumper Punk Records. He started it as a music site in 2008 and we all watched it grow as a record label the past 10 years. Him and his label will be sorely missed but we commend him for wanting to devote more time to his family. It’s tough in this scene and I know exactly how he feel coming from my perspective. With my experience the past 18 years I can tell you honestly that I have thrown in the towel a few times, wanted to a few more times, and have been battling personal doubts about my work even more times. It isn’t easy managing full time work, family, and trying to keep expenses under control. We all do it out of love for the scene and deeply feel drawn towards sharing our piece of hope with a crowd that isn’t so welcoming these days. That’s the point though, to share in times of darkness, doubt, and disbelief. Anyway, I thank David for the years of support, the years of awesome underground punk rock music with a real message, and for giving these bands a platform when so many others in the “industry” look the other way for more desirable returns on their investments. We all know that’s not the purpose and David is real proof that risk taking is more important than safety. JCHC for life! Read the full statement below and a little teaser by me.

For those asking, yes I will be working with a couple of Thumper Punk Records bands and helping them make the jump to IVM. Stay tuned for updates on who and when

Truly going to miss TPR. Bummed, but thankful.

Aw man! I understand that the Lord has called David into other things, but it’s still a bummer to see it go. God continue to guide you oh faithful and loyal servant. Brandon, can’t wait to hear whom you bring over to IVM. Can’t be easy as all bands on thumper punk are awesome!

Thanks for the kind words. Sometimes it’s hard to read the map, but you gotta go where you think He is leading.

Agreed. He will lead you, sir. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Christ keep you, David

As someone who came to Christ out of the secular metal scene I’d never been a punk fan. Thumper Punk gave me a reason to and a joy in becoming one. Legitimate, raw, with a message! What a blessing TPR has been!

Sorry to see the end of such a fun label. But always stoked to hear a brother is listening to the Lord’s leading. God bless

Thanks Phil. We’ve got a few more projects to finish, then we’re taking some extended time off. But who knows.
