Moda Spira, the electro-pop project of Latifah Alattas of Page CXVI, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for her new album, due this fall. 2016’s self-titled release saw a hazy mix of synths, passionate vocals, and diverse songwriting. The upcoming album chronicles the unexpected end of her marriage and her journey through pain. Skip Brooks who is a long time member of our little music scene has unfortunately received devastating news, that he has stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma. On top of the cancer treatments, he is having to deal with heart related issues as well. A bright spot in this story is that the Doctors believe he can make a full recovery after the surgeries and cancer treatments. Haiva ru is a new indie rock band from Santa Barbara, CA featuring vocalist Allie Merrill.
