It wasn’t long ago that Phinehas announced their signing to Solid State and a new album soon to be released. Since then, many of us have eagerly awaited more and more tracks to be released. If that’s you, the time has come! Check out Phinehas’ music video for “Hell Below” off their upcoming album, “Dark Flag”, available on Solid State 11/17/17.
Okay guys, I just listened to these songs on a nice car stereo system and I have no complaints. There is just enough kick drum (double bass) and snare none of which is overpowering or a cheap sounding manufactured set of instrument tracks. I urge you to go and listen to any track on AILD discography and you’ll hear the sound they are going for. I love Phinehas and I know these will be a strong set of songs. Love the song! Whoa to that ending.
So, so good! My fav so far.
Nice. Seems like a political concept album, wich is diferent 4 em, but needed. Im stil not big on the drum tones tho.
It looks like others echo your concern with the drums. Apparently they produced the album themselves. https://www.reddit.com/r/Metalcore/comments/792v96/vocalist_of_phinehas_calls_out_rmetalcore_for/
That’s interesting.
I didn’t notice a change in the production.
I went back and compared some of the last album to these new singles, and there definitely is a difference. I still think the songs sound pretty decent, though. Hope this doesn’t affect album sales.
How do you guys think this compares to albums in the AILD discography as far as instrument sounds and drums especially?
Intrestin. 1. Idk y they wudnt just find anotha produca, bein that ther on solid state now. 2. Idk y solid state wud clear an album that sounds like that, but maybe they wantd it 2 sound diferent? Hopefuly its not a s bad as metalicas “st anga”, figa 4s “wen its all sed” or zaos “the fear is wat keeps”.
This one’s my least favorite of the 3 so far, but it’s still pretty good. Need this album soon.
