Facedown Records Announces Facedown Fest 2017 Lineup
Facedown Records has just announced the lineup for Facedown Fest 2017. The festival has hosted many bands that were signed to other labels or the subsidiary Strike First Records, including Clear Convictions (Strike First), Comrades (ex-Blood and Ink), Bloody Sunday (Strike First) and several others. This year is the 20th anniversary of the label so they have had many of their prominent acts come join in or even reunite. LIV. Come out of Hiatus
The Christian hardcore/punk band LIV. announced that they have come back from hiatus. LIV. formed in December 2012 with members Matthew Salamante (Vocals), Jason Diaz (Bass), Ace Esguerra (Guitars), and Tony Esquivel (Drums). The band has released an album in 2015 via the Christian hardcore label On The Attack! Records, home to Dangerous Minds, Spirit and the Bride, and Rapture. Doomsday Hymn working on new material
The Brazilian groove metal band Doomsday Hymn have started to work on a new album or EP. The band has been around 2012 with Vocalist Gil Lopes (ex-Delohim) and Drummer Jarlisson Jaty (ex-Survive) and have released an EP and a studio album, released via Rottweiler Records. The band has been hinting that something is coming since late 2016 and now they have made it official. Be on the lookout for this incredible band. Vocals to Begin Tracking on Friday for Next Stavesacre Record
Vocal tracking for the new Stavesacre record will begin tracking this Friday. This comeback record should definitely attract new fans and old fans alike, that’s my hope. It’s been over 10 years since the last full length and 8 years since any new recorded music has come from these seasoned veterans of rock music. My anticipation and expectations are high but I have a feeling this will be the record everyone is talking about come end of year.

Death Therapy tease release date
The newly signed Death Therapy has teased the release date for the debut album. Death Therapy started in 2015 as the vision of former Becoming the Archetype vocalist/bassist Jason Wisdom. Wisdom left BTA in 2011 and joined a project with former Aletheian members called Solamors. Since 2013, when Solamors album was released, Wisdom has not done much in the way of music. He re-emerged musically with this project, which is himself and a drummer, named Josh Seagraves. The band just signed to Solid State Records and now have released the release date for their debut album.… Continued →

The Coopertheband is back with a Kickstarter campaign to fund a new album! The album will be titled “Kingdoms” and is the follow-up to their last EP “Kings” (which you can download for free from IVM by the way). Kingdoms will pick up where the loosely based concept album Kings left, offering a conclusion to King David’s life of heartaches, joys, triumphs, and failures. Fleshkiller Announces New Vocalist
Fleshkiller has announced that they have a new vocalist. The band started last year as a supergroup with members Ole Børud (Extol, Schaliach) and Peter Dalbakk (Vardoger, Schaliach) started the project and later added on Drummer Andreas Skorpe Sjøen. On January 10, 2017, Børud went to Facebook with a video of good news and bad news. Dalbakk is no longer apart of the band, as he is busy with life, but the band announced his replacement. Death Therapy Signs to Solid State Records
The Industrial/Groove metal band that is Death Therapy has just signed to Solid State Records and has released a new, or rather a re-done track, titled “The Lie”. Death Therapy is the solo project of Jason Wisdom of Becoming the Archetype and Solamors fame. Wisdom left BTA in 2011 and went on to do Solamors in 2013 with ex-BTA/Aletheian Guitarist Alex Kenis and ex-Aletheian Drummer Travis Turner. Turner now hosts a podcast, on which Wisdom has been a guest on twice. Strengthen What Remains Stream New Song; Cassettes Available for Pre-Order
The metallic hardcore act, Strengthen What Remains has a new song streaming, as well as pre-orders for their Promo cassette for 2017. The band started in 2010 and released two studio albums and an EP. The band recently had a few members step down and had new members join. Clear Convictions Breaks Up
The Christian metalcore band Clear Convictions has announced their disbanding. Clear Convictions started in 1999 but didn’t release their debut album, Warning until 2004 through Strike First Records, the subsidiary of Facedown Records. The band recorded another album that came out through On The Attack! Records and most recently as of 2015, their EP, New Seasons. The band announced on New Year’s Eve that they had disbanded. Spoken Begins Tracking New Album
Spoken are busy at it once again and have begun tracking their new album. This will be the follow up to “Breathe Again” which released in 2015. Unfortunately recent guitarist/songwriter Scoop Roberts will be stepping away from the band after they record this new album. You can watch a video below detailing why. Phinehas Drummer Exits the Band
Phinehas, Christian metalcore band from California, has had a successful couple years. Last year they already released a Acoustic EP, titled Fight Through the Night. This year might be a bit rough on the band, though as Drummer Lee Humerian has announced his departure from the band. Humerian, alongside Vocalist Sean McCulloch, have been the main members of the band since 2007. Over the years, they gained Bassist Bryce Kelly (2012) and Becoming the Archetype Guitarist Daniel Gailey (2014), and this became the lineup most knew for the last 3 years.… Continued →

REVIEW : Final Surrender - Nothing But Void
How common is metal in Asia? Does anyone know? The genre of metal is a rare one to say the least, especially over in Asia. Final Surrender is one of the pioneers of the genre there. The Progressive metalcore act has been working hard on this album. Their debut album, Empty Graves, was released 4 years ago.
