    Family Force 5 Drama Put to Rest

    Finally Jesusfreakhideout have put the drama about which label Family Force 5 is signed with to rest. Read the full report here. “Dance or Die” releases on August 19th through a partnership between Transparent Media Group (Founded by the Olds brothers), EMI Music Marketing, and Tooth and Nail Records.

    YouTube Hands Over User Data to Viacom

    This should shock many of you. Jonathan posted this news blurb on Taking Over but I thought it was relevant enough to post here too. Apparently a U.S. Federal Judge has ordered Google Inc. to hand over Viacom the records of every video users have watched on the video sharing site, YouTube. These records include users names and I.P. addresses. This is unreal. Read the article here.

    New Starflyer 59 Sort of…

    There is a sorta new Starflyer 59 track on myspace for you to listen to. It’s actually a rare track titled “Please Please Please” from the “Ghosts of the Future” 7″ collection Burnt Toast Vinyl put out. Speaking of Burnt Toast Vinyl, I see they have a new album from Unwed Sailor out as well. Check that out.

    Happy 4th of July

    I’d just like to say Happy 4th of July to all of you, our readers. Stay safe and try not to blow off your appendages with fireworks, that would be nasty. Remember, you need those fingers to type out your opinions right here ;) Anyway, have a safe and splendid 4th of July!

    He’s doing it again! More free Derek Webb (and Sandra too)

    Based on the success of a similar project with his previous record, Mockingbird, Derek Webb is offering his latest, The Ringing Bell, for free through a new service called NoiseTrade. Listeners can choose to either tell three friends or pay whatever dollar amount they wish in order to receive a link to download the album. Another artist using NoiseTrade, which just launched this week, is Derek’s wife, Sandra McCracken. Her album Gravity \ Love is also available, along with fourteen other artists (for now).

    You can listen to The Classic Crime’s new song Closer Than We Think right here.  If you listen to radio (which I might be the only one) then you’ve probably already heard this song because its their newest single off of The Silver Chord.

    The Lonley Hearts CD Release Show

    The Lonely Hearts‘ new EP, Born in the Dark is being released independently this Saturday, July 5. And to celebrate they’ll be playing at 12th and Porter in their hometown of Nashville. The cost is $10, which includes the CD. Three new songs from the EP can be heard on the band’s myspace.

    Avner Rises From the Dead

    Avner, the project of Josh Auer formerly of Pax217, has just posted a new song on myspace here. I have been wondering what happened to this band, glad to see them back in action.

    One of our forum users posted a note about this band and I checked them out today and I was pretty impressed. They are called The Radiance Effect from Springfield, MO. Their new cd will release on July 28th at one of their shows. You can buy merch from them here.

    I Am Terrified Album Details (Updated)

    Here’s the full album details for I Am Terrified’s self-titled new release on Mono Vs. Stereo/Gotee. The physical album will be able to purchase from the band starting on July 18th and it will be available at digital outlets on Tuesday, July 29th. A new song called “Falling On Everlasting” has been posted to the band’s Myspace.  Album cover and tracklisting are below.
