So, 2018 is behind us, another year on the books. After having put together a list of my favorite releases for the year, I decided to try going in the opposite direction and form a list of the albums I’m anticipating most in the coming year. RED have just launched a large donation based campaign to fund the release of their next studio effort. Check out the campaign right here via GoFundMe and watch the video below. As of date of this post they’ve raised $45k of a $100k goal. This will be an independent release (so far). Lacey Sturm who is now a rockin’ solo artist (and former member of Flyleaf) has announced alongside the members of Skillet that she will be filling in for Jen Ledger on a few upcoming Skillet tour dates as a co-vocalist. Ledger is currently touring as part of Winter Jam Tour. Speaking of Lacey Sturm, she has announced that she is working on a album follow up to “Life Screams”. The critically underrated indie-emo-rock or whatever you would like to call them band, have decided to come out of retirement and write new songs. Jessieville, Arkansas is about the last place on earth I’d expect to discover a new artist. I’ve been there, the entire town is comprised of a high school, a post office, and a burger shack. Yet much to my surprise that’s exactly where the progressive rock band Census comes from. The group started out as metalcore releasing an EP and a handful of singles. But with guitarist Ben Carey taking over on vocals the band has taken on a slightly different sound. Nautical rock band Rusty Shipp have a new music video out for their song “Crack Baby” from the album Mortal Ghost. In addition to the new music video, Rusty Shipp is currently crowdfunding their next EP on Indiegogo. The campaign ends tonight and has raised 92% of the band’s $5000 goal as of posting.
