Squad 5-0 Begin Working on New Comeback Album, Say What?

With all these new reunions fresh in our minds and the rivers of nostalgia running deep, it was only time before the mighty Squad 5-0 came back and dropped a new album on us. According to the band’s official Instagram page (sorry I’m not aware of any Facebook pages that are current), they may be working on a new album and teased with like 1 second guitar clip. Whether or not this is true remains a mystery much like the band themselves. Let’s hope for one more rockin’ ruckus of a new album. The band last released “Late News Breaking” in 2004. Continued →

The Prayer Chain Announce Vinyl Release of "Shawl" and Live Show

Beloved Southern California 90’s alt-rock band, The Prayer Chain, have just announced a new campaign to fund the vinyl pressing of their much loved debut full length “Shawl”. The band crossed all barriers and industry confines to write songs that conveyed emotions which the general “Christian” market just wasn’t prepared to deal with at the time. Their music transcends all labels and tags that may be associated with the band to truly be recognized as the powerhouse rock act that they were. This and “Mercury” were the band at their finest. They were powerful, pioneering songwriters that were a step above all the rest. Check out the campaign here and let’s push them to that level where we’ll get one chance to see them LIVE again. Switchfoot Announce Hiatus

The men in Switchfoot have announced their hiatus in 2018. They’ve been a band for 20 years which is quite an accomplishment. The fact that these core guys could stick together this long and put out a consistent set of cherished songs for 2 decades is admirable. I wish them the best and thanks for all the years of entertaining, uplifting and well loved songs. We were meant to live for so much more, indeed. Continued →

Blank Books (Aaron & Jesse Sprinkle) Announce Debut Ep

Blank Books a band that features world renown producer (and musician) Aaron Sprinkle and his legendary drumming/songwriter genius brother, Jesse Sprinkle, have announced their debut EP which is available digitally now and it is available on CD for pre-order right here. This is the band I told you about a few years ago and one i’ve eagerly been anticipating since Jesse shared a song stream with me quite a while ago. This band and its’ members have a quite a music pedigree so you can only expect the very best from these two. I can’t even begin to list off all the bands they’ve been in, a part of, and produced over the years. I am sure you can wiki it but I recall Poor Old Lu, Rose Blossom Punch, Solo work, Fair, Demon Hunter, Dead Poetic, Vekora, and so many more. In fact, if you have a list feel free to post it in the comments. [Thanks synnr sainte jebbeau for the news tip] Oh and listen below ;) Continued →

Eaves Drop New Album "As Deeply As You Do"

I am excited to announce (thank you Marco) that indie post-grunge/rock act, Eaves, have dropped their debut full length titled “As Deeply As You Do” via bandcamp here. Right now the album is available in digital format but physical media is coming soon according to the band. Check them out on Facebook here. Listen to the album below and make sure you purchase it. The album is only $5 and it’s pure quality entertainment meant to inspire and evoke emotion. Recommended for fans of Make Do and Mend, Hot Water Music, Incubus, Everything In Slow Motion, Attalus, Thrice, and My Epic. The music sounds great for an independent act and I think many of our readers are going to instantly be attracted to these sounds. Continued →

Bring Anberlin Back!

While Anberlin remain as a much loved personal favorite and staple of my music diet, I can’t help but wonder if it has been just too short of time for a “reunion” to happen. What say you, is 3 years not enough time to have a full Anberlin reunion, tour, and album or should they wait a couple more years? Continued →
