Chives McAlister - Running After You (New Pop Punk Song)

Los Angeles, CA. based Chives McAlister, is back with a brand new “Family-Core” pop-punk song titled “Running After You”. Family-Core is not a new genre or sub-genre it’s just a fun loving tag penned by Caleb of Chainstay and Must Build Jacuzzi, placed upon this love song for his wife and kids. Instead of the typical relationship downers and depressing lyric content, Chives’ Erik Williams has created a beautiful tribute to his wife and their children, thus “Family-Core” is born. The song “Running After You” is now available on all digital networks and streaming sites through Small Step Records.… Continued →

Noise Ratchet Announce Reunion Date at Furnace Fest and Till We Have Faces Re-Release on Vinyl

Noise Ratchet have announced their reunion by being added to the Furnace Fest 2024 lineup and they’ve also teased the vinyl re-release of their now classic album, “Till We Have Faces”, originally released by The Militia Group in 2002. The band would go on to record and release a follow up EP for The Militia Group before departing for a major and recording their ill fated full length with Rick Rubin which was shelved and has been in the vault ever since. I’ve heard it and it would have been the band’s finest work and on par with the biggest bands of the 00’s.… Continued →

Homeplate Goes Hard, No really they do!

I’ve heard a pre-release, unmastered copy of the new Homeplate album and it GOES HARD! I wasn’t expecting this but I do love it and can’t wait till all our IVM friends stumble upon it. Even though this isn’t an IVM release, I can’t help but sing it’s many praises and send a little promotion their way. This is a more grown up Homeplate and a more heavy sounding album both from a production standpoint and their musicianship in general. It reminds me of “Chuck” era Sum 41 (and the latest album) meets Strung Out meets Four Year Strong meets old AFI with a little modern hardcore thrown in for good measure.… Continued →

Too Bad Eugene "Battle Scars" New Album Out on Friday

The brand new 14 track Too Bad Eugene full length titled “Battle Scars”, is out on Friday. This isn’t really a review, more of just a quotable summary 😉 This sonic masterpiece finds the band at their absolute best playing songs that are slightly out of the box for TBE and tackling themes that keep them a few steps ahead of fellow punk rockers who seem more obsessed with just relationship drama and political retread. The sounds on this record are crisp, clear, and full of that thick bass feel that keeps a fullness in sound.… Continued →

Too Bad Eugene Get Divorced

Too Bad Eugene released their latest new song titled “Divorce Story” a couple weeks back that we neglected to post about (I’ve been busy sorry :(. This song is not autobiographical, it’s meant more as a play off of their song “Wedding Story” off their year 2000 debut “At Any Rate”. Check out this epic pop-punk, classic Too Bad Eugene song below this post. The band’s new album “Battle Scars” drops on March 8th via People of Punk Rock Records!!… Continued →

Nate Parrish - Bad Excuse (Official Lyric Video)

Nate Parrish returns with first new song since 2022. The song is titled “Bad Excuse” and it just released on Friday via his new label home, Fair Vaux. Check out the lyric video below right here on Indie Vision Music and make sure to stream the heck out of this song, I mean really do it. “Bad Excuse” is hecka fun (fka ‘Hella’) and if this is any indication of what’s to come in 2024 from one of my favorite punk rock artists, then we are all in for a real treat.… Continued →

Song of the Day: The Pits - Get in the Car

The Ohio band Pits are a band whose roots started in Panama. They are a hard band to list genre-wise, but I would say emo-pop punk-alternative esque. Appears they only released 1 full length & an 8 song EP on Angryson Records. This was the same label who released music from Neshamah & Aftertaste. The short lived Mono vs Stereo label picked up this SOTD for their The Revolution Will Begin in the Blink of an Eye 2nd comp. Check this catchy song out & try not to sing along the 2nd time!… Continued →

Best of 2023: Rob Jensen

1. Lacey Sturm – Kenotic Metanoia: This November Lacey Sturm released her first album in nearly 8 years. To say it was worth the wait is an understatement. If it’s going to take 8 years to release a new album, this is the caliber release you want to shoot for. Lacey sounds as good as ever and has dropped an exceptional album here. It easily outshines her previous release, Life Screams, and is, in my opinion, her best work to date, including her material with Flyleaf.… Continued →
