I am proud to welcome the Derby City based pop-punk act – Homeplate, to the Indie Vision Music family of artists. I wasn’t planning on “signing” any bands in 2020 but this one just fell into my lap and I couldn’t resist. Their debut single “Broken Youth” will be out July 24th to all digital networks and streaming sites. Grandpa Loves Rhinos are about to drop another new song from their upcoming album and you can watch the teaser clip below. The song is called “Fostering Patience for Patients” and is a deeply personal song about foster care. It also features the talents of Andrew Alojipan of Kept On Hold doing some mighty fine background vocals. Two special things are happening next month, the 20th anniversary of Indie Vision Music and the 20th anniversary re-release of the debut EP from my pals in Names Without Numbers! 16 years ago Indie Vision Music released a little known EP by a little known emo/indie rock band from Kauai, Hawaii known as “Pennylane”. So much has changed in the years since both professionally, musically, industry, and personally, that those years seem like such a blur. I just remember a friend passing this self released EP to me at one of my Chain Reaction shows that the band released on their own and loving every second of it. This week, Indie Vision Music introduced our very first theme switch design that allows you to alternate between “Light(side)” and “Dark(side)”. Pick your side and choose wisely! Kidding, but seriously this new theme switcher is pretty awesome. Just tried it on desktop Google Chrome and the “Light” one looks amazing. It works on both mobile or desktop versions of the Indie Vision Music website. I have long been wanting to switch up the site and offer the option of a lighter color so I feel as though this option is best move for us because it retains the original (2016) colors while also incorporating a lighter aesthetic.… Continued →
