Song of the Day: Five Iron Frenzy - A New Hope

This song “A New Hope” by underdog heroes – Five Iron Frenzy, was released after the tragic Columbine shootings that took place in Colorado back in 1999. It is just as touching and relevant today as it was almost 25 years ago. I will not spend any time on getting political here. The world has enough activists, and my voice is but a tiny speck of dust on a pile of needles hidden within a massive haystack. What happened in Nashville and frankly around the world on a continual basis is about more than just weapons, drugs, mental health, hate, anger, pain, fear, etc.… Continued →

Indie Vision Music x Tooth and Nail Records - I'm Your Biggest Fan 2 (21 Years Ago)

A word document popped up in my Dropbox while I was searching for old files. It showed that the tentative line up for the “I’m Your Biggest Fan 2” compilation that I assembled for Tooth & Nail Records on March 11th 2002, 21 years ago. A couple bands had to be swapped for a couple reasons but the final lineup is pretty close to what I had planned out. I have created a little collage video with a couple song samples from the compilation through YouTube which you can view below.… Continued →

Brandon's News Round Up: March 18th 2023

Happy March everyone! After a long absence I’m back and ready to throw down, well from my own office that is. I’ll rumble with this keyboard and toss a mouse through your screen. I’m the A.I. of your nightmares. Yes, creepy I know. Let’s get rolling with some great February music news for this new year of 2023. Oh and yes, my “Best of 2022 List” is indeed coming soon or something like that. *This has been assembled sporadically over the past month or two so some items might seem “dated” but that’s ok because more is on the way.… Continued →

Next In Line to Possibly Reunite?

Nothing like a good news story to sorta, kinda, maybe drop a hint that a former Indie Vision Music band “might” get back together and “might” celebrate 20 years of “Traffic” next year. There has to be some interest out there so let your voices be heard loud and clear. Do you want to see ALL of their pre-Indie Vision Music, 2003 Indie Vision Music, post-Indie Vision Music, and all the fun unreleased stuff in between, finally get posted up on digital networks? There have been a lot of songs here and there that dropped on the Indie Vision Music website over the years dating back 2005 when the store/label morphed into a webzine.… Continued →

EMOtional Rock Anthems, A Spotify Playlist

I just launched another NEW playlist via Spotify called “EMOtional Rock Anthems”. If you’re feeling particularly emotional and overcome by moodiness, may I suggest this playlist. Full of songs that fill out a decade or two. It’s a growing playlist so stay tuned. I’m trying to keep it mostly pre-2010 because well, you know, emo kinda died for a bit? But its back, YAY! Anyway, enjoy and feel free to spread the word. Playlist below and link right here. Continued →

There is plenty of 90’s and 00’s represented. I’ll work on some post-2010 stuff next as well as a “Heavy Music” one for everything year 2000 and above (there is plenty to choose from). The “More 00’s Rock Anthems” is a work in progress even through there is more than 300 songs. I have a couple more I forgot about and will be adding today/this weekend.… Continued →

New Features at Indie Vision Music

[Update]: Ok, this should be the last update in regards to the new features and “GIPHY” integration. I have fixed it so everyone who comments will be able to post a GIF. Remember, 1st comment on IVM always has to be approved for user before comment goes live. [End of Update] Messed around a little on the site today and added some new features. You can now use “GIF” clips when making a comment on a particular post. Just scroll to the bottom where comment box is and click the little color box all the way to right called “GIPHY”, then select your favorite one, insert code (automatically selected) and hit “post comment”.… Continued →

Dismissed Take The Good With The Bad for 19 Years

It’s hard to believe that 19 years have passed since a young 24 year old Brandon connected with a band of youngsters that nobody outside of our very small small population of Orange/San Diego counties had heard. I remember eating some tasty tex-mex food at Chevy’s (remember that place?) here in Laguna Niguel, CA. back in early 2003 and through the talking noise of fellow patrons with full bellies of perfectly formed machine made tortillas, I discussed the future of IVM and a band, Dismissed. It changed my life, quite literally.… Continued →

New Indie Vision Music Spotify Playlists

Myself and Noah have been hard at work on creating a variety of Spotify Playlists featuring many bands covered by Indie Vision Music as well as other artists you might recognize. Check out the “Pop Punk Essential Playlist” I created a few weeks ago as well as the “New Song Hits” Playlist I just morphed from the prior “Song Blast” one. Each has new and recent songs from a collection of artists. A little disclaimer: The Pop Punk Essential Playlist is not one that features Christian music only artists.… Continued →

Pennylane Concert Footage from 2006

I also found this old concert footage of the band Pennylane performing at Kauai Christian Fellowship in Poipu, Kauai in the great state of Hawaii. This is also a short segment and I believe my camera died which is why I didn’t film it all or something (memory is foggy). Anyway, check out this long lost fragment of Pennylane in a time long since past, and enjoy what you see. Sound is not good FYI and it was a small room with bass overflowing and drowning out the rest of sounds.… Continued →

Unashamed and Strongarm Concert Footage from 1995

I dug this old VHS tape out of the deepest cavern of Pre-Indie Vision Music archives that I could search through. This old tape was converted to digital (Digitized) by a company called imemories out of Arizona. I love their services and they’ve done a tremendous job so far. Anyway, check out this really old concert footage of the bands Unashamed and Strongarm from 1995 at a Church in Capo Beach California (Dana Point) called “Capo Beach Calvary Chapel”. I was 17 years old at the time and holding my parents VHS camcorder.… Continued →

Indie Vision Music x Song Blast Playlist - Number 3 & Number 4

We are hosting a Spotify playlist series and this week I am combining #3 (Click Here) and #4 (Click Here). The overall goal of these is to increase exposure for some great independent talent and hopefully, get some hefty plays. I think with enough attention we can increase plays while also drawing attention to great independent talent who have something positive to say. These plays will not only help independent bands who own their music but also independent labels who rely on streams and purchases across digital networks (yes, including Indie Vision Music).… Continued →

Indie Vision Music x Playlist Blast Week 2

I got this idea from the whole Gamestop / AMC Theaters / Silver concept being run through Wall Street by savvy investors and reddit users. In this case we are hosting a Spotify playlist to increase exposure for some great independent talent. The goal is to get these songs to 100,000 plays. It’s a hefty goal but I think with enough attention we can get it done. These plays will not only help independent bands who own their music but also independent labels who rely on streams and purchases across digital networks (yes, including Indie Vision Music).… Continued →

Support Indie Vision Music With a Button

I am enabling the PayPal donation button here on Indie Vision Music. Since this is a self-run hobby inspired website run in my off hours away from work, the financial burden can sometimes outweigh the positive outcomes of this site. There are costs involved in operating IVM, little things but unfortunately they add up. There are still bills to pay. If there is anything IVM can offer in return, please let me know in the comments and I’ll gladly support the best I can. Even just $5 can go a long way.… Continued →

Indie Vision Music x Spotify Blast To Support Independent Bands and Labels

I am stealing this idea from the whole Gamestop / AMC Theaters / Silver concept being run through Wall Street by savvy investors and reddit users. In this case we have created a special Spotify Playlist to increase exposure for some great independent talent. The goal is to get these songs to 100,000 plays to support great bands. It’s a hefty goal but I think with enough attention we can get it done. These plays will not only help independent bands who own their music but also independent labels who rely on streams and purchases across digital networks (yes, including Indie Vision Music).… Continued →

Best of 2020: Brandon Jones

Despite all the despair, hopelessness, fear, anxiety, death, destruction, and uncertainty that 2020 has thrown at us, we have all taken solace in our music and found hope through it. We are carried through the pain with messages of inspiration, songs of motivation, and songs that just plain electrified our souls. The following is a collection of albums, eps, and songs that were meaningful to me in 2020. Not all of the releases listed below are “Christian” but most of them rocked me to my core!… Continued →
