Poetic Descent - Pariah (Official Music Video)

Those hard rockin’ dudes known as Poetic Descent are BACK and with a new song titled “Pariah” (Feat. Joel Holycross). The song is available now wherever you get your digital music. The band has been quickly climbing rock charts all over the country and abroad with their infectious hard rock/alternative sound that can best be described as a cross between Incubus, Deftones, Disciple, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Dead Poetic, Funeral for a Friend, and just all around great sounding rock n’ roll. They keep it real and completely original, throwing in their own personal touch that keeps them separate from all the sound-alikes and clones out there.… Continued →

REVIEW : Death Therapy - "Voices"

Death Therapy appeared on the scene for many with their debut album, “The Storm Before the Calm”, in early 2017. An album that just dripped of a mix of industrial and metal, it was met with a positive response from both fans and critics alike. It elicited such a positive response in fact, that even at the time, it was hard to ignore that it set a pretty high bar for whatever might come next. Fast forward to March 2019, just a little over two years later, and we’re about to find out how the new album, “Voices”, one of the more anticipated releases of 2019, stacks up.… Continued →

REVIEW : Relent - Heart Attack

Sometime last year, Brandon was kind enough to introduce me to a band named Relent. At the time, the band only had a 2 song ep available called “Embers”, but it was more than enough to pique my interest. What we have in these guys is a what I’m going to call a new nu metal sound. Normally, when I’m putting together a review, I like to make comparisons to other bands to help give an idea of what to expect sound-wise, but here that’s a little difficult.… Continued →

REVIEW : Demon Hunter - Peace

So, it’s been a couple weeks since Zac reviewed Demon Hunter’s “War” album. If you haven’t yet given it a read, you can find it HERE. Go check it out, I’ll wait. Caught up? Good. Now that we’re all on the same page, it’s my turn. Let’s talk about the other album the band released on the same date (yes, a double release), “Peace”. When it came down to reviewing one of the new Demon Hunter albums, I’m not gonna lie, I was a little disappointed to find I’d be reviewing “Peace” rather than “War”.… Continued →

New(ish) Norma Jean - "Children of the Dead"

We’re a little behind on this news, but around a month ago, Norma Jean released a B-side from the Polar Similar album called “Children of the Dead”. The song is available on the Polar Similar Deluxe Vinyl Set, which you can get HERE. You can check out the video for this track below, it’s pretty bizarre, but a great song! Right now, the band is in the studio recording their 8th LP and the follow up to Polar Similar, so we can hopefully expect it later this year.… Continued →

Zahna - "Your Gun, My Knife"

Zahna has quickly become a favorite of mine. Her debut album, “Red For War”, dropped last year and really exceeded my expectations. Hard hitting hard rock, smooth melodic vocals, powerful screams…it really impressed. “Your Gun, My Knife” was one of the tracks that stood out to me on my first few listens and today, the music video for that song was released. Check the video out below and let us know what you think!… Continued →

Raven Faith Records, New Signings

Are you one to seek out some new bands to listen to? There are so many bands and labels out there, it can be easy to let some get by you, but whatever you do, don’t let Raven Faith Records be one of them. Raven Faith Records is a newer label in a way and has a roster that is well worth checking out. A few bands worth mentioning here are Peter118, As We Are, CPR, Desiring Dead Flesh, Thre3, and The Bricks. More recently, the label has signed Outside the Shadows, His Calling, and they’ve renewed a contract with Peter118, who have also released a new single, “Waiting”, this past week.… Continued →

New GFM Song and Video, "Give Me A Sign"

Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh are primed to release a new EP this Spring and we’ve already been given a taste  from their first single, “On the Inside“, but just this past week, we were treated to another track from the EP titled “Give Me A Sign”. This new track maintains their heavy sound, and is really driving and aggressive. The screams you might expect to hear are absent, but it by no means detracts from the track, it’s really quite great. There’s a noticeable growth in their songwriting as the song is very well broken up, musically speaking, making for a really enjoyable listen.… Continued →

New Death Therapy song, "My Defiance"

Many of us have been eagerly awaiting something new from Death Therapy, and today is the day! The new track, “My Defiance” is available now on all digital platforms (click HERE). The track contains many elements common to the previous album, “The Storm Before the Calm”, however this song is notably heavier than anything on that album, in my opinion. The song features crushing, heavy guitars, guttural screams, and some rather melodic choruses. The song also features a guest spot by Josh Kincheloe of Glasslands and he sounds great on this.… Continued →

Introducing Rockfest Radio

Rockfest. The name is carrying more and more clout as the days pass, and rightfully so. Founded by Seventh Day Slumber frontman, Joseph Rojas, Rockfest kicked off as the City Rockfest Tour that would showcase both up and coming bands as well as more seasoned acts, all pretty exceptional. This year’s lineup will feature Righteous Vendetta, Seventh Day Slumber, The Protest, Random Hero, Zahna and Amongst the Giants. Wow.   Rockfest, then came to become the moniker for the newer label, Rockfest Records. Amongst the Giants - Too Late (Official Music Video)

Amongst the Giants released a beautifully scathing album, “Obscene” last year. If you haven’t heard it yet, you’re really missing out. On my personal “Best of 2018” list, I gave them the #1 spot for a reason. Give it a listen and I think you’ll quickly see why. But I digress. Just a couple weeks ago, the guys released a new music video for the song “Too Late”. The video is really impacting and touches on some pretty real issues a lot of people face. Great message.… Continued →

Most Anticipated Releases of 2019: Rob Jensen

So, 2018 is behind us, another year on the books. After having put together a list of my favorite releases for the year, I decided to try going in the opposite direction and form a list of the albums I’m anticipating most in the coming year. Now, a bit of a heads up before we dig in; I am almost certainly missing some albums here. Some may have escaped my attention, and I’m sure there are more to be announced yet as well. All mentioned below I’m sure are coming this year, but a specific date has yet to be given.… Continued →
