• But Jesus says in Luke 9:23  “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
• So let us keep on trying and live like Hebrews 12:1-2 advises: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

This pop rock/hip hop artist has been making a lot of waves lately with his personal stance on this years (2025) Dove Awards. I personally like some of his music and this song is one that I’ve heard many people love. Metalcore Florida band Second Thief released a few EPs from 2005-2012. Their vocalist sounds similar to The Agony Scene’s. This SOTD comes from their 2010 release Brainwashed. This progressive unblack metal from, Norway was comprised of 3 members with the vocalist being in Extol previously. Tor is also a member of the band Mantric. They only released 2 albums before changing their name to Ganglion. Lengsel means longing in Norwegian  with Stille Dualisme meaning silent dualism. I have always loved the sounds of surf music. The Beach Boys were a staple on the oldies station that my dad listened to when we were on the road. I remember Dakoda Motor Company coming out & that 1st & 2nd LP blew me away. These 2 SOTD bands have released these 2 songs very recently which I thought was cool. Roger was the vocalist of one of the big 4 of thrash metal in the Christian industry which also included Deliverance, Tourniquet & Believer. Vengeance released 4 albums & this writer unfortunately didn’t hear about them until their last Released Upon the Earth. Pastor Bob Beeman’s hand is on the cover of their S/T debut. This is one of the funniest songs I have ever heard. It is a parody obviously of Sir Mix-a-Lot’s hit mainstream song. Basically the song is about a guy who likes a girl who is a Bible Believing Christian. This artist played an experimental eclectic mix of various electronic/hip hop music. The people/person behind the project that released 2 full lengths are anonymous. This is one of the most powerful songs I have ever heard.  The band hailed from Wyoming & did a cross between worship & rock music. Wikiepedia claims they are still a band, but I haven’t heard anything from them in a few years. Check em these lyrics. Canadian Connie Scott is a singer from the 80s/90s whose music I didn’t discover until this song from a  cassette tape I bought from a local Christian bookstore ( remember when there was such a thing!) Releasing their first EP in 2017, this Carolina thrash band has done the genre very well imho. Some may recognize guitarist Ryan Roebuck’s name from other projects he has worked on such as Motivik & Vultures Gathering. This rarity hit Christian rock charts in 1996 per an e-book I recently bought that covers Christian rock radio from 1983 until 2002 when the chart first started. It has become my pastime to review all the music that has evolved into what we have today. I had never heard of this band and the music imho is unmemorable. From my search, it looks like the record label only released 2 projects with the other being an AC artist. Modern rock band CoI has its roots in Myrtle Beach, SC where I used to hang out a lot back in the day. They have released a slew of singles over the past few years & I keep anticipating a full-length, but have yet to seen one arise. So Lecrae is a decent gospel rapper that has done pretty well in the industry. I saw him live & talked to him in Chicago a few years back where he autographed a book I bought that was about his story. I like tons of rap genres & artists, but all of them have come from the Christian industry. This reggae song released in 1999 was music to my ears literally. I didn’t know too many people back then who was into reggae & if they were knew only about Christafari which was rare.
