Just a short while ago, nu metal band Relent dropped a cover of the song “Jesus Freak” in honor of the 24th anniversary of DC Talk’s album of the same name. Check the video out below and leave your thoughts. (Dude. That breakdown.)

Well it wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever heard. I usually don’t like when people remake songs because normally it shows that they can’t come up with their own ideas but I understand this is a special occasion but in all fairness it was all right

Well that was a pleasant surprise in 2019. I am going to have to give these guys a real listen too. Chasing Victory’s cover may slightly top Relent’s version personally, but definitely really like what they did with it.
