The black metal/death metal band A Hill to Die Upon has something new on the horizon. The band teased something new on December 15, 2016, saying that in March 2017 there will be something new. The band formed in 2004 with brothers Adam (Guitar, Vocals) and Michael Cook (Drums), and Bassist Elisha Mullins. Mullins left in 2011 to pursue joining the band The Burial (Facedown Records). “The Waiting Room” is Trip Lee’s sixth project. As mentioned in this article from Fuse, this is not a proper album per se, hence it being deemed a ‘mixtape.’ Such a term is one of ambiguity, as it can refer to an album with blending and scratching, where the songs flow together, while it can also refer to an album with non-cleared samples and stolen beats from bourgeois producers or beat makers. I have decided to have Dismissed “Taking the Good With the Bad” and Josiah “Verona” remastered by Seth at Simpul Studio. This Dismissed version will be a new remastered version of the original master. I will swap out the old “remastered” version on bandcamp and get this new version up on all digital networks in January. Josiah “Verona” will sound better and have vocals brought more out front. The band has just announced tour dates and bands playing alongside them on their Everything Was Sound Tour for 2017. The band formed in 2009 with a completely different lineup. The band came to fame when they signed to Solid State Records in 2013. They released their debut album, The Night God Slept in 2014 through Solid State. The Industrial/black metal band Kekal has been working on new material. Earlier this year, a little over a month ago, Jeff Arwadi, the main man behind the band (hey that rhymed), put out a post giving clarification on the band’s status and new music. Kekal started in 1995 and has gone through minor lineup changes. The band has had no official members since August 8, 2009, when Jeff Arwadi and Leo Setiawan both quit the band. Solid State Records has enjoyed quite the stellar year with releases from Silent Planet, Forevermore, Norma Jean, and Fit For A King. Now Wolves At The Gate are closing out the year with Types & Shadows, and it’s a fitting record to finish such a monumental year for the the label. They’re back with their third record on Solid State, and they mean business. Types & Shadows summed up in a word would be “dense”. Its thirteen tracks have a runtime over fifty-four minutes, the barrage of high-gain rock’n’roll rarely lets up, and Stephen Cobucci’s weighty lyrics occupy the majority of the songs.… Continued →
