Michael W. Stand Releases Brand New 3 Song Ep Through Thumper Punk

June 13, 2017, Santa Cruz, California. Thumper Punk Records is thrilled to announce the release of Michael W. Stand’s contribution to the 3 Song Acoustic EP series. Michael W. Stand is a pioneer in gospel music, with a distinguished career that spans several decades and multiple genres. Founded in the early 1980s, his band The Altar Boys developed a worldwide following as they boldly expressed their faith over Orange County style punk and alternative rock. In the 1990s, his band Clash of Symbols stood at the forefront of hard hitting rock, with catchy and accessible pop melodies.… Continued →

What Is The Showdown Up To?

It’s been a long time since the once main-stay metal act, The Showdown put out an album. In fact, it’s nearly been 7 years since Blood In The Gears was released. Feel old yet? Well something is going on and hopefully it means another album. On March 26, without warning The Showdown’s Facebook page went live. It was two members including vocalist David Bunton playing an acoustic version of We Die Young, a song from the classic rock influenced album, Temptation Come My Way. Following this video, there have been a few videos shared from their Instagram with Blunton recording vocals with hashtags involving the words the showdown.… Continued →

68 - Two Parts Viper

REVIEW : 68' - Two Parts Viper

I’ll open this review with two bits of information: I find Nirvana severely overrated and annoying and I find The Chariot to be largely overlooked and incredibly innovative. 68′, the brainchild of ex-The Chariot vocalist Josh Scogin, falls stylistically between the two. “In Humor and Sadness” saw release in 2014. Now, the duo returns to the fray with “Two Parts Viper” – but does it live up to expectations? Eventually We All Win opens with some sort of strange percussion and filtered vocals akin to, and I’ll probably get some level of flack for saying this, Arctic Monkeys.… Continued →

Hand of Fire - The Prophecy

California Thrash band Hand of Fire has a new music video for y’all to see! The song is called “The Prophecy” and it is brutal. It brings the sound of old school thrash, much like Slayer or Metallica, with the vocals of Death Angel. The track is going to be apart of their upcoming debut album, titled Let the Killings Begin, coming out through Rottweiler Records.

Farewell to The O.C. Supertones

The show this past Saturday night was an incredible experience. It was bittersweet in the fact that they put on a fantastic, entertaining, and emotional show while at the same time effectively ending their more than two decade career as a band. So many memories are rolled up into this band for me and I’ll be forever thankful for the music & ministry of this mighty Ska band. I wrote a deeply personal account of my experience and love for this band on the IVM Instagram page.… Continued →

Here’s an official press statement: Weird World is the second full-length album from Stemson, combining a mix of tight/catchy synth lines/driving rhythms while being carried by vocals that are both dry/honest and loud/sarcastic.  Weird world visits elements of the 80’s/90’s/00’s and modern pop while maintaining a life of its own. The album is currently available for pre-order to the public (stemson.bandcamp.com).Continued →

LeAnder Frontman Writes New 3 Song Ep in Honor of His Upcoming Wedding and You Can Listen to the Stream Right Here

Nashville, TN – – LeAnder frontman is stoked to get married! In anticipation for the wedding date (June 24, 2017!), Scott Anderle released a 3 song EP that chronicles the couple’s relationship. Each track is produced by different one of Scott’s close friends who helped him create this EP as a wedding gift. Although Scott takes the energy of screaming and distorted guitars down, Ampersand definitely does not lack in heart. The first track, Bryana is suitably named as it is a forward song engaging the listener to the story of how they met with an intimate final verse where he asks her to be his girlfriend.… Continued →
