1. Colony House “Only The Lonely”
Only The Lonely really struck a cord with my personally. Every song on this album revolves around our need for each other–a message I sorely need to hear. Thankfully, this record rocks and got spun a lot in 2017.
2. Knox Hamilton “The Heights”
Named after a neighborhood in Little Rock, Arkansas, The Heights is most most played album of 2017. Maybe I’m a little bias because Knox Hamilton is from my hometown. Or maybe the album is just that good.… Continued →
Best of 2017: Graham Wall
1. The Ongoing Concept – Places
This is how you make a rock album. Whereas Saloon can be a bit too intense and Handmade a little reserved, Places finds the sweet spot. You can check out my five star review here. Favorite songs: “You Will Go,” “Off the Cuff,” “Domesticated”
2. Theory Hazit – IT’S WHATEVER
The Portland, OR emcee and producer released an instrumental album (with the exception of an MF Doom remix album) every month this year. Simply put, he is a beats and rhymes wizard and IT’S WHATEVER is the album that kicked off 2017.… Continued →
Best of 2017: Casey Gallenberger
Here is my “deluxe” review list for 2017 – 20 great albums paired with 17 EPs you shouldn’t overlook. This year, we saw strong releases from veteran acts and new groups alike, and they certainly weren’t confined to one genre. Hopefully you can find a new artist through the list below – and please let me know your opinions in the comments!

Introducing: Chris DuPont
About Chris DuPont
Chris DuPont is a singer-songwriter from Ann Arbor, MI. who mixes stylistic elements of indie, folk, and ambient. His approach to songwriting is down-to-earth and honest, paired with subdued instrumentation. Vibrant strings accentuate the emotional experience, resulting in songs that certainly have a lot of radio potential but which manage to maintain artistic expression nonetheless. Fans of Motherfolk and Ed Sheeran will find much to enjoy. Check out his 2015 album, “Outlier”, below.

Archabald Teases New Album
New Archabald Album Out in 2018
Albuquerque, NM. experimental rock group Archabald has been teasing followers with a combination of cryptic posts, humorous polls, and poetic quotes. All this considered, a new album is in the works. It hasn’t been revealed exactly how far the group is into the writing process, but you can expect more news as time goes on. The band has also strongly hinted toward a giveaway, so be sure to follow them on social media.
About Archabald
Archabald released their debut full length, “Relativity”, in early 2016.… Continued →
Author Set to Release Sophomore Album on 1/1
“Is It Far // Or Is It Close” Due 1/1/18
Minneapolis-based indie act Author has announced their first new album in just about three years. “Is It Far // Or Is It Close” is due 1/1, but the band has set up pre-orders and has three tracks up for preview. “IIFOIIC” sees Author dabble with the ambient, post-rock leanings found on their debut, “Of Brighter Days”, this time incorporating some electronic elements as well. Add in the band’s penchant for technical, noninvasive drumming and they’re set to open up 2018 on a strong note.… Continued →
Arthur Alligood to Release "Portage Vol. 1: At The Edge Of The World" Ep January 12th
Arthur Alligood is an artist I’ve followed for many years. From his independent work as solo musician all the way up to “One Silver Needle” in 2012 which was one of my favorites and a critically acclaimed, under the radar HIT. If you don’t know who Arthur Alligood is and you’re just casually browsing IVM then please drop what you’re doing an listen to the full length album right here (or on iTunes & Spotify). Then head over to this link here and preorder the new ep (1st in a 4 ep series due in 2018).… Continued →

Switchfoot Announce Hiatus
The men in Switchfoot have announced their hiatus in 2018. They’ve been a band for 20 years which is quite an accomplishment. The fact that these core guys could stick together this long and put out a consistent set of cherished songs for 2 decades is admirable. I wish them the best and thanks for all the years of entertaining, uplifting and well loved songs. We were meant to live for so much more, indeed.… Continued →

REVIEW : God - God II: Jesus Christ - The Origin, The Life, Death & Resurrection Of Jesus Christ
This mysterious band has been making music since 2016. Their website states, “GOD will challenge you to consider your life, death through the power of music.” While I am in contact with the band members, repeated requests for information regarding the member(s) have been unsuccessful—even to the point of denying my request to know which country the band is from.
This is the second album from the band, and there are two more planned—each one with a conceptual theme. God I focused on the nature of God, while God II as the subtitle suggests, is all about the person and work of Jesus Christ. … Continued →
