Mainframe Experience the Lockdown With Their Brand New Song

By in News, Streams | 1 Comment

Mainframe return with a catchy new, most definitely relevant, new song titled “Lockdown”. The band and IVM have released the song through IVM bandcamp right here (For Free) and it’ll be on all digital networks next Friday! It’s an exciting representation of the band, their message, and their experiences living here in the states during our very chaotic times. It’s got a great message and showcases their more punk rock n’ roll sound. Follow them on Facebook here and Instagram: @mainframepunk . Listen to the song, below.

Message from the band regarding this song:

“This song is written from the perspective of the dove Noah sent forth from the ark. I was thinking about how the dove, along with the other animals, had been sheltered safely (though probably uncomfortably) in the ark during the rains of the flood. When he was sent out to help determine the state of the waters, the dove was exposed to a radically different world than the one he was used to. The landscape was basically unrecognizable. He had to search for a place to call home in a massively changed environment. On the first flight, there wasn’t even a place to land!

Drew and Rachel, and Naomi and I have experienced this kind of change in the past couple years. I know the pandemic has left a lot of people feeling the same way. If you were locked down and are still waiting to land, look to the Lord and sing this anthem loud!”

LOCKDOWN

Hit the rock hard in the middle of night
A nervous three more months, menagerie in fright
40 more with the door locked tight to the floor
I want to stretch our wings, return to life before

To the raven even death looks fine to eat
The bird of prey gets around with muddy feet
He was fit for the mission, flying to and fro, but he lacked
The heart to bring any information back

I’m flying out of the safest place that I’ve known
I see the world has changed and
I’m soaring over the waters searching for a new home
I guess we’ll have to rethink this

I made a flyover, not a valley in sight
With nowhere dry to nest, I carried on in flight
Didn’t see a living thing, just a world that’s warped
A raven picking out the eyes of a floating corpse

Flying out again but I’m not afraid
To find a place and the perch for which I was made
The landscape washed with chaos, but I’ll try
And send an olive leaf back to say goodbye

I’m flying out of the safest place that I’ve known
I see the world has changed and
I’m soaring over the waters searching for a new home
I guess we’ll have to rethink this

I could almost mistake this song for Children 18:3. I think that’s a good thing.
